That's fair enough OLM, but I do think you should clear up this misunderstanding.
Did Ash Lord specifically invite your good self?

Scooter - when you have this meeting, can you and the others not go heavy on pulling at the heartstrings angle.

Tales of widows whose late husbands would be spinning in their graves at the name change will be of no interest to him, frankly I doubt he would really give a toss at all.

Dr Allam is all about business and needs to be engaged in a business discussion. I've always thought that he has the best interest of the club at heart and what he wants to do is not designed to be at the detriment of the club.

The name change would be at best neutral to revenue, but more likely negative, as many have already stated that they would not buy merchandise with 'Hull Tigers' on it. He surely must realise that he isn't going to shift a load of shirts in Asia or Africa - surely? Not genuine ones anyway.

As I said in my previous post he needs to give us his projections that would suggest otherwise, just as CTWD need to do this in reverse.

"It's not personal, Sonny. It's strictly business." - Michael Corleone, The Godfather Part 2 (1972)

Added - take along the sales figures for the CTWD scarves and compare the sales against those sold in the club shop. My guess would be that there is not much between them.

The invite was a cirucular sent to each group, unlike the others it was not sent to he group but to my personal email and I understand that Ash was expecting it to be me that accepted it.

As I've stated, if the board as a whole is unhappy with that and wants to appoint someone in my place, they are welcome to do so.

That seems to clear that up once and for all, good luck at the meeting.

Nope, you'll do for me Lammy. As someone who strongly apposes the name change, and as a business man yourself (surely this is a useful attribute), i would say you were ideal.

This thread has unfortunately gone a bit pear shaped.

I was hoping to get more of an indication of who cared about retaining the AFC, who cares what the club is registered as at Companies House, who only cares about the playing name, who cares about the nickname being part of the playing name etc.

The more thoughts I have, the more I can take into the meeting.

    @ashlord23 4h
People on the not606 forum follow me; I wasn't specific in my email invitations. I asked for the name of 'the chosen representative'.

    Ash Lord ‏@ashlord23 21h
Emails were sent to those who I knew were in certain supporters' groups, that's all.

“The invite was a cirucular sent to each group, unlike the others it was not sent to he group but to my personal email and I understand that Ash was expecting it to be me that accepted it.” OLM

What made you assume Ash Lord expected you to accept it?

The 3 quotes above are still contradictory. Can you post the e-mail in question (with all identification to yourself erased of course) so we can see clearly that he invited you specifically to represent this board as indicated on the OP?

We spent hours this week disguising all the angles that needed to be considered. We're aware that the historic stuff is less likely to be understood and the business aspect will be the initial approach, as far as we're aware no research has been done on the business model and this is based on nothing more than Assem's opinion.

For clarity, the opinion of the CTWD group as a whole, is that the company name is largely irrelevant and no reverse of that is being requested, but everything else, including the AFC, should be retained on our playing name.

No I can't do anything else, you've done enough to derail this thread already.

I've answered the question, just give it a rest.

For crying out loud Craig, you aren't against the name change. Why on earth do you care who represents those who are ?

It really hasn't got anything to do with you.

    Agree with summer of 69

Also the majority of fans dont even post on forums so the strong views on here may not be the views of the majority.

As for OLM i seem to think he went off the Allams when NB. got sacked so maybe he is against the Allams deep down

Course that might not be case its just me wondering.

Im just not going to let a name change spoil what is one of our best seasons ever and our best times ever.

    Great times for. Sure

I thought the way Nick was sacked was appalling, but I'm still as grateful to the Allam's as everyone else.

OLM is very well qualified to represent my views and has my 100% support as do the CTWD group of which he's a member.

My opinion is the Football Team name should remain including AFC.

Cheshire Ben raises great points but probably unlikely fans groups will get into that level of detail. I
I hope they do as that will show Papa Allam is interested in fans views.

We have a long fight ahead and if this meeting proves to our owner how commited the CTWD is and how long they will fight then it will be another successful step in whats been achieved only in five weeks.

OLM is in business himself and has experience in Asia which I recall is the main argument Allam had for thename change. Our nickname is the most powerful "Tiger brand" as THE Tigers... so market that... plus its one letter shorter than "Hull Tigers" !

I would like to retain the name Hull City AFC , the name is fine , it is ours , it doesn't need changing for any reason

I don't care what the name registered at companies house is

The Tigers nickname is one of the strongest in football and should be used in marketing etc. but it is a just a nickname

Just look at the crest at the top of the page

@craig , give it a rest and stop derailing a thread which is important
