The thing with American owners is that they will want to see a return on their investment. They didn't know "King" Kenny from Adam 18 months ago. If the signings don't bring success (and there is still a lot of dead wood in the Liverpool squad,) I guess they will be looking for a new solution.

Hubcap man, you don't have a clue do you! PNP has put your expenditure on his exorbitant wages (wages, a subject you'd know little about i suppose!) in front of you now...and as for your reply to me, you've been reduced to a gormless response based on a rumour, if you've nothing better than that, perhaps you should get back to.....your hubcaps! <ok>

What I find most amusing about the Scousers is that they really do think that Carroll is going to "come good." They think that just because they paid £35 million for him, he must be good. <laugh>

He's done absolutely nothing since he's been there, and next season he is going to look like a fish out of water among the big boys.

The Yanks will not like have pissed £35 million up the wall. And one 'Pool actually said that "king" Kenny knows what he's doing in the transfer market <doh>

You can't make this stuff up!

    What a tool.

What's the excuse for the season before last then Reina? The rubbish like Niko Krancjar and David Bentley and Alan Hutton got us 4th and (again) finished above Loserpool. Spurs are £90m in the red are we? Source please.

Thanks for the 6 points by the way.

King Pepe has a point there guys! I mean, if they had Kenny whenever they played us then we definitely would have been found out!

Oh wait, 2-0 then, wasn't it?

And that was with Carroll & Suarez the most potent strike force in the land <ok>

You will never find a more deluded fan than a Scouser, that is a fact. They truly believe that they are god's gift to football and that they "deserve" to be in the top 4, even when all the evidence tells them that they are now, at best, a top 7 or 8 side.

Gooners are deluded, but 'Pool fans are on a completely different planet.

And then there are Spurs fans who think one flash in the pan stint in the CL makes them a big club <laugh>. Third biggest club in your city, slightly embarrassing for a supposedly 'big' club...

And to think - how embarrassing would it be to lose to them at home? Your last chance to salvage something from a dreadful couple of seasons!

Oh how you'd love to be ManU!

    Gosh!

The last two seasons have been our worst in a very long time. Conversely, they have been your best two seasons...EVER! And with that in mind, the gulf between our clubs last season? Oh yea - a couple of points difference.

You lot are more bitter than the blue noses, proved by this pathetic thread.

Seriously though, how do you see Henderson fitting in? I thought you guys were after some wingers to give Carroll service and Henderson is no winger. Plus you've already got Lucas, Mereiles and Gerrard that play in the middle. Seems like a lot of money for a player who's going to be on the bench for his first few seasons. Also, it means you now only have 2 strikers, do you know if there's anyone in the frame yet?

    Its ridiculous!

And I though you spuds paying £16 Million for Bent was bad!

Consider that for less than the £55 Million liverpool spent on Carroll and Henderson Wenger bought:

    Patrick Vieira
    Thierry Henry
    Nicholas Anelka
    Emmanuel Petite
    Mark Overmars
    Robert Pires
    Robin Van Persie
    Cesc Fabregas
    Kolo Toure
    Sol Campbell
    Gilberto Silva
    Alexander Song

English players get over-rated and overvalued.

Henderson played once at international level and looked WAY out of his depth!

Meireles is 29 and Gerrard 31. Henderson will be 23/34 by the time they retire and hopefully in a position to take over. Lucas is defensive midfield and aquilani will go to Milan. Unfortunately you now have to pay in the market for young English talent. What gets me going though is spurs fans thinking they are any better, Harry has tried to sign everyone we and united have but gets turned down - which creates these bitter threads.

No-one asked you to comment on it <ok>

I trust you feel the £35m for Carroll & £20m for Henderson are excellent value for money? <doh>

I understand the strategy of replacing them early but it's a lot of money to be spending on a player, especially considering that you now need another striker and atleast one winger. No one appears to be willing to get near your asking price for Aquilani either which I'm sure doesn't help.

I included lucas as I thought that you'd be playing 4-4-2 next season with Suarez and Carroll up front, Kuyt on the right and N'Zogbia on the left. Is that how you see yourselves lining up?

FYI it's not bitterness from the Spurs fans laughing at the fee. We paid similar for Bentley, Bent and other flops not so long ago, we're just pleased to have moved on from all that.

No. Not at all. But no english players will ever be 'value for noney' but that doesnt mean the owners were mugged, they took a calculated risk and one which I reckon will pay off. Also, it's slightly hypocritical of you lot when you would do the same, except for the fact players like Suarez turn you down. It also helps that we sold Torres for way above what he's worth which meant there was less pressure to get Carroll as cheap as possible. We've now got Henderson and Carroll for less than what we sold Torres for, which seems fine by me.
