Can't predict 3-1 anymore. Not allowed. If you want your 2 goals clear it has to be 2-0 now. If you want Saints to score 3 goals it has to be 3-0. We've got an absolute goal deficit to keep down. 3 goals only. Not 5, as some supposed lifelong Saints fan said in a Q/A session.
Did you know... Saints have scored more goals in the last five minutes of Premier League games than any other side? (3)
Isn't it lucky that as long as match carries on, any goals that are scored, as late as the last minute, still count.
I really hope we play two upfront tomorrow. It would be quite negative to play one up front at home to Fulham.
Indeed. Hence my point that a large factor in our late-game heroics is likely our superior fitness, as we've been the better side late in most if not all of our games.
Don't know, but you can pay £20 to access St Mary's for the day.... http://www.not606.com/showthread.ph...lham-game-at-well-below-face-value-(block-43) . Vin
Apparently Fulham haven't beaten us at our place since before the war. Can't really see that stat changing today, but I certainly don't predict a comfortable win for Saints. There are no comfortable wins in this division, unless you're playing Crystal Palace.
I'm beginning to worry about this game, but don't worry folks...happens on the morning of every match. Have to say I wasn't worried about the United game (until we equalised) because I had mentally crossed that one off and decided to take anything we could get as a bonus. This seems in some ways more important...want the team to win at home for the fans and to consolidate our good start. COYR.
Enjoy the game whoever is going. I'm meeting a Saints supporting friend in Angel, which will make a change from watching a stream on my own. Poor me. 2-0 Saints. COYR
And for the first 45 minutes, I wouldn't even say we were that comfortable against Palace. (Although the second half was as comfortable as you're ever likely to see in the PL). I think that's why I wouldn't be totally surprised if we didn't win today. Swansea aside, we are yet to stamp our authority at the start of home matches this season. Which is a shame, and slightly irritating, because we do appear to be one of those teams who once they get a lead, they go on and win the match. Very much the opposite to last season.
Just watched Jol on Sky extolling Saints...saying he had tried to sign both JRod and Osvaldo but they were too expensive. Mentioned our fantastic midfield and our defence. Said he took the dangerous decision to go all out against Palace and it paid off...didn't say what he was going to do against us sadly.
Can't see him going all out against us. That would be stupidly naive. Against Palace that's a gamble worth taking because they're ****.
I can see this being a tight game, with Fulham sat deep and trying to hit us on the break...not a good game for TV. I think 1-0 with Rickie scoring from a free kick or penalty Prepare yourselves everyone!
