Honestly I am a United fan and I have disagreed or argued with you ( as a group) a few times. I cannot ever recall having burnt any bridges or offended anyone.

I just hope that gerrez is man enough to say he has made a mistake and we can move on.

Sisu, didn't you advocate the banning of all Manchester United supporters from the Liverpool board? So surely deleting Sm1thy's thread is a step in the right direction for this board <whistle>

They make calls and 99.9999% are good imo on here, we have great mods, all of em. That doesn't mean some calls are wrong, we're all human and make mistakes but we must be able to admit we make them.

I never advocated banning all mancs from this board at any point.

I in the past had issue with some being allowed to wind up some LFC fans with impunity if I remember correctly and some LFC fans on here actually condoning it in fact by posting agreement and the mods allowing it to go on.

    *googles impunity*

I think sm1thy falls into that category. You just have to read his contributions in the last match thread to see that he's a troll. To be honest I don't mind him at all, his subtle trolling makes me laugh, but I can see why moderators would be suspicious of everything he says on the board.

I dont think it was a mistake, Smithy was coming here clearly on the wind up

So bollocks to him mate, correct decision by mods. The end.

This is not about the general modding or the past folks I am only talking about Sm1thy's thread and my opinion it was closed for no valid reason.

Now I am having a debate with opposition about all other manner of stuff<doh>

Okay your opinion, but the opinion of the mods is that he was here with an agenda to make us look bad, like I said bollocks to him

Then this was posted by one of our members
and his banter buddy who also happens to be a mod closed the thread.

All other posts were related to the OP and the topic was being discussed or so I thought anyway.

That was from Smithy's recent posts in his history

He didnt close it because he said too, it was closed as Smithy was here on the wum and as soon as the thread was seen, the correct action was taken

It started off where it was being discussed but Smithy would've ended up using it as a points scoring exercise, see his post that I put above

Well that was the suspicion anyway, he was on the wum, doesnt make it so and also I am being a little malevolent today as well :)

As a single thread on its own there was no reason to close it but it was closed because who posted it you are saying?

Sorry Red I couldn't resist <laugh> But only because your post led to the thread being closed, people can try deny it but that's the case, there were several posts prior to that one and it remained open.

Queue reasoning as to why what i say is incorrect. But lets not beat around the bush.

    1. I am being a bit of a ****
    2. The thread was closed because of who posted it and not the content.
    3. See 1

We shouldn't close things on a whim but if we felt that a thread would be to the detriment of the board then we have to make that choice, yes you are right that we shouldn't go around closing threads just because we want to or don't like the content.

  19. Well, I see this as kicked up a hell of a lot of **** about nothing. Can't say I am surprised by any of the comments either, they all fall well with what I deem to be that posters character.

Vast majority on here know me well enough to know I am happy to put my hands up and admit when I am wrong. They also know that I don't abuse my mod powers, in fact I usually get moaned at for not using them enough!

I am not going to apologise for closing a thread, especially when I believe it was the right thing to do and, as has already been pointed out, a mod does not have to justify their decisions either.

This thread was created by RHC as a joke in retaliation to me editing his OP on the cob thread, nothing more and nothing less.

I have nothing else to add and will not be returning to this thread. I trust the other LFC mods to manage it accordingly.

True and I will also admit there is some merit to watching out for people with suspicious motives for creating a thread and had **** started then OK

But it was being discussed, the topic, granted it was not as fantastic as my 9\11 crap :) but it was still an issue and an important one regardless of suspected motives.

It was the manner of the last two posts that I noticed but didnt really care, just that Red posted this thread so i thought hey, why not just be totally honest about it and irk Red at the same time.

If it didn't pan out as I think it did then fair enough. it is only my opinion after all.
