Food memories flooding back now - syrup butties, sugar butties, sauce butties, Irish stew with beetroot [never on scouse, sacrilege], bubble and squeak with Sunday's left over roasties and veg ....
Syrup butties - No Sugar butties - No Sauce butties - Yes Any dark meat stew with beetroot - Yes Bubble & squeak - Oh yes. How about crisp butties?
We were too poor to afford crisps, so as a youngster, no to crisp butties. Now slightly off topic - were lucky bags the biggest rip off ever?
They were ****ing ****e. I used to buy a quarter of aniseed balls and sell them in the playground for a hapenny each. Made a few bob
You got your tin hat ready Magic? P.S Hows your feet? And dont ignore me this time or i'll stop caring
They used to have a little seed in the middle, if you were patient enough to suck them instead of crunching. You can buy all these old fashioned sweets again, cost a fortune - you'd have to sell them for 10p each to break even
I've not seen you ask mate my bad! Not too bad, still swollen but I can walk on both now (just). Will find out more on Wednesday when I have them x-rayed. 30 minute walk to the train most days doesn't bloody help.
Well put your feet up mate and pre order the Football Manager game out next Thurs Im still struggling with walking mate from my injury but not going into all of that - lets just say its not been easy but ive been very brave
Which one would that be? Serious for a moment. A cob can be crusty or soft (I was taking the piss earlier ), but only if you're a misguided Southerner (Midlands might as well be South as far as we're concerned) It's called a barm-cake in Liverpool. The word cake pre-dates the invention of sweet confectionery. It is also used in some areas for other things such as a cake of soap (try sticking one of those in yer cake'ole).
