There's a tendency for it to be lunch and dinner these days, my lads call it that, but for me it's always dinner and tea. If I go out for an evening meal, it's just that, an evening meal - dinner's for snobs <laugh>

I think pikelets look like crumpets but are a lot flatter.

I actually like crumpets, well toasted and crunchy with cheese on. Probably from the days when we were kids and our parents didn't have much money so it was anything that filled you up. Loads of bready stuff. Porridge for tea then off to bed before you realised you were hungry. Blind scouse another cheap favourite.

  13. Used to have them when I went to my nans mainly. I love a good crumpet now though. As you said, toasted and crunchy but I don't have cheese, I smother it in butter so its dripping through the bottom as you eat it <ok>

Yeah loads of butter. I like spreading a thin layer of wholegrain mustard and then thick slice of cheese and toast it again .. mmmm.

  20. Ok, I've not eaten yet and I'm starving. I'm off to Coventry to get a chip cob, a cucumber and some Pikelets, maybe a cucumber too <ok>
