You do realise that things could get worse rather than better as a result of this meeting. I think those attending would be well advised to sit down together before hand and come up with a unified approach. If that's not done, I can see it quickly deteriorating into a "them and us" situation, and things breaking up after about 5 minutes.
If the football club via Ash Lord have invited OLM then I don't see any reason to object. The football club have decided this not the members of this board, some may not like it, but that's the way it is. No need for any of this let's have a poll nonsense.
I agree with this. If OLM wants to relay some of the reasonable suggestions like Strov's then fair enough but I don't think he is duty bound to **** about telling Papa what every single City fan on here thinks. Inevitably it will be mentioned that "We all appreciate what you've done enormously, but we don't think that makes anything else you do beyond question and we disagree with you on this one." Which immediately covers a lot of people on here anyway.
OLM isn't even a moderator on this board. He holds no position as an elected representative of our views and therefore he will be representing his own views under our name. This is cronyism, not democracy and only those who share his view will be willing to ignore the fair way this should be done which is a poll.
Aye, never mind the meeting agenda, the cynic in me questions Allams agenda in calling this meeting. Does he genuinely want to build bridges, or part of some scheme to make him look reasonable and fans look like stuck in the mud dicks.
If the board was electing someone that would be a good point but we aren't. The club has picked someone.
Exactly, everyone is hugely thankful for what the Allams have done, but as custodians of our club, they have responsibilities too. Certain things you don't mess with, particularly when it divides the majority of stakeholders (fans). The club is nothing without fans.
Picked on what grounds? OLM is obviously pally with people at the club, but that doesn't mean he represents this board.
I don't think he's pally at all. I think they just know him well from other committees that he's attended.
I'm not being funny, but why the **** would we want to send someone who endorses the name change to Hull Tigers? That would be mental.
I'd guess that's quite likely, Strov. Bear in mind this has already been going on for some time - CTID, I mean.
I feel like my democratic rights have been abandoned. I should be able to elect a representative for myself and not have it imposed on me. I therefore demand a poll so that I, along with almost everyone else I believe, can elect OLM and he can go forth anyway with unanimous. I also request a poll should be held to choose his attire to represent us. I'm stuck between a white tux and top hat or a pink suit.
A poll? I expect us to have a poll to decide whether, or not, we have a poll...... (Or.....you and the other yes-men could always get your own pressure group together. Combined, you make a lot of hot air, so it's only fair you let the good doctor know)
I think you are going a bit over the top here and suggest you cut your E-number intake. OLM is the biggest contributor to this board, he has more input than a mod and to be fair comes across as a decent guy. In future we could look to have a elected representative but based on the fact he contributes the most to this board, is on the committee to protect the club from the name change etc and the meeting has been requested for next week surely its better to run with it and trust he represents the interests of the city supporter.
As long as he represents ctid, which has a fairly strong number but never shown to be supported by the majority, and not afctid which as only been shown to be followed by about 40 fans.
Yes and you and the other sheep can be told what you think. Poll = democracy. I have no doubt OLM would win it, but nevertheless he doesn't represent this board unless he's elected to.
