Never rated Blackstock. Ordinary at best.

I thought Dex would have developed well if he stayed with us. We had no reason to sell him. I think he was getting better and maturing.

I liked Blackstock. Good in the air and with his feet. Probably better than Mackie???

Somehow I don't think this is true. Mackie had some great qualities, especially detirmination. He would TRY to thread the ball through the eye of the needle. I don't think Blackstock would have played as well as Mackie did in our first EPL season recently.

I did say 'probably' and ended with 3 question marks. All rather academic really. I think the bottom line is that neither of them was up to PL quality.

Ambition at Leeds cannot be very high.

Blackstock and Ray Jones was a great partnership. After Jones died he struggled imo. You can't say he was a bad player for us- three fairly unspectacular years overall.

This. Always rated Dex, was gutted when he was sold on, on the sly. Technically better than Mackie IMO.

I'm another who rated Dexter. I will always remember him getting onto the end of some marvellous crosses from Lee Cooke. They worked well together and I was disappointed when Dexter was sold. I wish him well (except when we play Leeds, of course).

Inclined to disappear if he didn't get the ball at his feet. Too often seen walking around with his hands hanging by his side. BUT knew where the goal was. Never really recovered for us after breaking his leg.

I thought he was ok tbh. could have developed into a better player had he stayed.
Wasnt he our top scorer when he was sold?

Paulo Sousa was fired over his transfer to Forest.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...-Four-Year-Plan-shows-job-QPR-impossible.html

"Matters came to a head when Sousa was sacked for 'divulging highly sensitive information' regarding Dexter Blackstock's transfer to Nottingham Forest - an accusation later rejected by the club’s boss.

Palladini was also later seen referring to Sousa as 'that idiot' before the axe fell.

Sousa was the first of a succession of bosses brought in to lead the club to promotion, a feat that was eventually achieved by Neil Warnock after Briatore and Palladini had left the club.

He maintained too that the film accurately portrayed what went on with Blackstock’s transfer to the City Ground, adding: 'I don’t need to explain that, people can see for themselves what went on.'

And he claimed that had he been allowed to foster a relationship with board member Amit Bathia that he too would have stood a far better chance."

I'm sure you are right. Wasn't there that scene in he 4 year plan where One Size is amazed that we are letting him go on loan to Forest because he is our leading scorer? He wasn't even a regular starter at that point.

Daily Mail excelling themselves again. Just the one L in Paladini guys and Briatore and Paladini were both still at the club when we won promotion.
