I'd love to go with him but sadly I have work. Fortunately he is bracing me with his presence on Sunday.
Is it worth getting a 6tb NAS storage box to hook up to my router fella? need a single point to access all me choons and flicks.
I'd love to go but I have work commitments. Fortunately he is gracing me with his presence on Sunday.
For more than one location definitely. Worth getting a couple of the powerline plugs too, so you can plug in the NAS wherever there's a power point. They have come right down in price. I mainly use this my main computer for most things. Laptop for out and about, and the Chinese pad for bedtime browsing on here and reading books. So I'm quite happy to interchange external drives that are all to hand. So don't personally need a NAS.
We have 3 iPads and 3 iPhones, a bob play book and 3 laptops so I'm looking at a bit of a catch all solution. apparently some let you access from anywhere in the world over the net? what do the power line things do mate? i have a signal booster (huwai) I use to boost my wifi.. Is it the same? ta.
I'd love to go, but I'm down in Sussex and have a work's do tonight. A very kind offer though Joe, hope you enjoy it.
The powerlines are Ethernet connectors mate, rather than trailing cables about the house they use the actual mains ring to transmit the data. Excellent for streaming into the telly and faster than WiFi. The following link is to let you know what I'm on about, trust me you will get them cheaper than PC World if you shop around. I'm using TP link ones, and I'm stupid! As I know about computers I went straight into changing the settings etc. etc. You don't need to they work straight out of the box. As they should as they are expecting to connect to your own network. You don't need to reset them just unplug in one room and plug in, in another. There's WiFi ones too but I prefer the hardwired as they are faster. . http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/netwo...working/727_7090_70097_xx_xx/xx-criteria.html Most of the newer NAS's will let you connect over the internet they allow an open port for you to log into. I have an IP camera works the same way so I can check my house on my phone.
Saw him Monday night at the O2 London mate very good show, not really a fan but enjoyed it a lot. He does a 1 and a half hour set non stop not bad.
