Why am I hearing Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire" when I think of him in jail?

Bit of advice for footy fans: stay away from riots.

Bit of advice for horse-puncher: if you drop the soap in the shower, leave it.

I'd like to dedicate this song to Barry Rogerson aka horse punching leg end as a parting piece of advice. <laugh>

With the sheer predictability, we've come to expect, the Newcastle board has people defending their hero while, at the same time, saying we're sad for taking the piss <doh>

To be honest, nothing any of us has posted is anywhere near as funny as the photo of the waster punching the horse or even the headline, "Newcastle supporter punches horse."

It will never stop being funny <laugh>

This was the perfect opportunity for the Newcastle board to show some class ........... <doh>

As Haslam suggests, the man is a total indefensible disgrace and should be condemned for shaming the club and the city of Newcastle.

But, instead, they claim he's been harshly treated and invent ludicrous stories about being attacked by horses etc to back up their hero.

If the loser hadn't been wearing his TOOOOOOOON shirt and wearing his TOOOOOOOOOOON scarf they'd have no doubt claimed he wasn't even a supporter despite him going to the match.

They even try to claim that Sunderland supporters letting off a 'flare' is what the public will remember of the that day. Errrrr, yeah .........

"Ch Supt Gary Calvert said: "The images of Rogerson's behaviour were seen right across the country and further afield through the media and internet coverage of the disorder."

Sorry Bri but I kind of agree with Durham Stag - My wife was beaten up and had her head repeatedly hit off a wall and had lumps of her hair ripped out back in July - still suffering pain now and the girl who did it got a caution and nothing more - Which is worse? Punching a horse or beating someone up?? In comparison his sentence is harsh (not in reality though) - I agree he should be locked up but can't work out why the girl who assaulted my wife wasn't

Quite right, I still feel it is disproportionate. Hope your wife is okay and on the road to recovery mate. No doubt MR will find something funny about it, he seems to think assault is a laughing matter strangely.

I'd like an explanation of this mind District Line or would you rather not? Why is it disgusting to think that it's justice that a fan who causes or is involved in disorder is locked up for a year?? I don't think it's disgusting at all - I think he's rightly punished - just wish they'd dish out similar punishments when people out of the public eye commit similar offences
