I'm loyal. I support my home town team which is in a desperate situation right now. Bottom of the league, not a win this season and a manager who is under fire and likely to be fired pretty soon. Just a few years ago we were on the brink of the Premier league and the cash, glamour and glory that went with it. I ask myself WTF is going on every day. I also support my adopted home town team. This is where the similarities are just too weird to ignore...winless, bottom of the league and the head coach is rumored to be fired if we lose at home to the Carolina Panthers tonight. JUst a few years ago we were Superbowl Champions....Champions of the World as the insular Americans like to put it. I ask myself WTF is going on every day... NFC South Team W L T New Orleans Saints 5 1 0 Carolina Panthers 3 3 0 Atlanta Falcons 2 4 0 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 0 6 0 Maybe I should become a closet Gashead for the rest of the season?? Sucks to be me right now.
Bloody hell mate, One team would be bad enough but supporting 2 teams in the same situation, Would make me suicidal!
No way they will sack SoD... Have you seen where the Gas Heads are? They just lost at home to Accrington Stanley! Keep the faith over there Tampa! I have more respect for you watching soccer than I do the lot traveling up to Carlisle this weekend. I saw David Beckham, Robbie Keane for LA Galaxy last year vs Toronto, some of the worst football I'd ever seen in my life, and I watch Bath City occasionally!
Some of the MLS games are actually okay - the standard is getting better as they are not quite so reliant on old has-beens like they were in the past. The problem is that the American crowds are terrible - really no atmosphere. I saw a article recently about the US fascination with English football and most of it is the sheer noise at games and the fabulous songs we sing. None of that over here. Shiny - if you do end up in Canada you'll be nice and close for the next women's world cup! I'm taking my daughter there as she loves "soccer" but alas having been born over her, her allegiance is to the USA and not the 3 Lionesses..... Makes me sad.
I remember Toronto were playing a 352 with Torston Fringes as the centre back. He is about 5ft7!!!! It was like watching a tall bloke hold a midget at arms length kicking him in the balls against Galaxy's 6ft6 forward! The only stand out player in that game was a guy called Richard Eckersley who looked like a well schooled and trained talent, and then spotted he was former Man Utd academy player. Beckham was tripe playing pretty much every position on the pitch. What the MLS needs, is some good British coaches over there to teach them the game a bit. It has so so much potential over there, just needs cash incentives and lose the confusing league rules. Football is football though, and I'd watch a Peruvian midget kickabout to get my fix of watching a game live!
What happened to Australia Shiny? Have you got brass balls or something? Good luck anyway and remember don't eat the yellow snow it tastes like piss!
Best to stick with the stuff down Ashton Gate, there is such a thing as spoiling people too much with a good thing
Another morning, another Tampa Bay Bucs loss. It was pathetic...the local papers all calling for the coach's head. Even the wife quipped this morning "the Bucs are as bad as Bristol City"......actually they are orse as they have lost all 7 games. At least we've drawn a few. I need to break out of this depressing cycle...please be it tomorrow at Carlisle. Please.
