Welshman: No, but it is a concern when a mod of any board begins to get a reputation for banning people just because he takes some personal offence at something you've said or done rather than a breach of the rules. As BS is a mod of your board you'd think you'd care about that. Maybe not. I maintain that bans have become all too common across all the boards, including ours, and should be reserved for those who continually and persistently break the rules. You can't ban someone because you don't like them. Although it now seems you can.
All he didn't ban me Dill but as you say when we were met with abuse on their board he was nowhere to be seen.
While I agree in principle one of your posts which has now been removed did seem to me to be threatening something about his son which I personally thought was a bit over the top so you do have to take some responsibility.
Epic Fail......... I don't post on your board Think before you post and make yourself look very silly again
Just before the season started if memory serves correct. Pointless you posting that Taff has definitely got an itchy trigger finger. Perhaps we should give the other chap the benefit of the doubt
But did you get a yellow card first? If not surely that's a breach of board rules Don't worry KJ, those of us that are laughing will probably be joining you soon enough
The yellow card thing has gone by the board, Valley. I've always had straight reds. But it gets worse. Welshman: "threatening something about his son"??? Oh please. Do you really think I'm stupid enough to do that? I really wish people would read properly instead of jumping to conclusions. That leads to hysteria. For the record, he had been bumping his gums about me using his real name. I was aware of his real name and his son's because he openly mentioned them repeatedly on the old 606. I have called him Ian ever since and he's never told me not to do so. He mentions it today and I politely replied that 1: I wasn't aware he took offence because he was open about it and 2: He'd also even mentioned his son's name before, openly stating that he was disappointed at the game etc. His old moniker was 'IanandTom' for god's sake. How on earth is that threatening someone? If he'd asked me not to use the name I would have complied - despite the fact that everyone knew it anyway. It's ridiculous. Thing is, according to Blue Sheep it's not about that. I kind of wish it was because the reasons he gave beggars belief.
The problem Dilli is that if you say something over there that someone doesn't like - particularly if it's a mod - you'll find yourself banned even if there are no breaches of the rules. So what's the point of ****ing rules?
A mod should have no recall for banning a poster for comments said on their own board. If their was, then we would all be bloody banned.
Stop reading now if you don't want to know the ins and outs of what's happened. If you're a contributor on their board heed this warning! I haven't received a satisfactory response from Blue Sheep so I'm taking the step of revealing some of his PM's to me. I don't do this lightly but you may well be as gobsmacked as I was. Or maybe not, I don't know. I threatened to report him to a supermod but my experience with brb in the past leads me to believe I'd probably be wasting my time. For those who don't know I had posted a comment on one of their threads to the effect that I thought Malky should go after the Palace job. Blue Sheep took this comment and created a new "Derby Day Build Up" thread. I had no problem with that even though I wasn't asked about it but was a bit concerned that my comment didn't fit the title of the new thread and it looked for all intents and purposes as if I was on a blatant WUM. I therefore put an edit on the post to make things clearer. In fairness, BS also stated at post number 3 what he'd done. Posters on both sides started contributing and the banter was pretty good natured. Then jumping in feet first was isawronnymoore who was abusive in the extreme towards me personally, questioning why I'd had the audacity to put up such an irrelevant thread and that it should be removed. I responded that he should have read BS's post at number 3 and that he was a bit thick. Quite a measured response considering the abuse. He then began bleating on about me "derailing threads" and "forcing Cardiff posters" away, neither of which is true. He also took umbrage at me using his real name (Ian) despite the fact he had revealed both his and his son's name repeatedly on the old 606. I'd called him Ian for years and he'd never complained before. During these exchanges not once did I breach any of the forum rules, yet next thing I find I'm banned. I asked Blue Sheep why via PM. The responses in part follow below: “the main reason is you mocked my intention to try and create football talk by editing the initial post then using that thread to try and bait more posters into it. Even by my own admission this is harsh” [So I was banned because the mod took offence at my innocuous editing of my own post. There was no 'baiting', and he admits the ban is 'harsh'. Too bloody right] “Even if I didn't ban you your going to spray more **** around next week anyway with you Tan this and Tan that speeches. You are being made an example of and I will come down hard on other Jacks” [So I was banned because of what I might say next week. Also, I'm being used as an 'example' to threaten Jack posters they'd better watch themselves over there with the derby coming up. It gets worse.] “You made it personal by bringing up his family” [I mentioned the fact that Ian had openly published his son's name on the old 606, nothing more. I didn't repeat it.] “You constantly derail threads” [I've asked for proof of this. None has been supplied, hence me publishing these PMs.] “I've got to side with the Cardiff fan in almost every occasion” [Openly biased.] “And I can hardly ban a Cardiff fan” [Ditto.] “You were the first person to push my buttons hence your getting the warning.” [I had no interaction with BS before the ban so how did I push his buttons other than by my edit which was only done not to make me look like a WUM? Oh, and there was no warning either. Where's the yellow card?] “if you publish personal messages…you won't be returning to the Cardiff board anytime soon” [A threat I clearly don't give a flying **** about.] The message here is clear - you can get banned over there for no breaches of the rules. If a Cardiff fan complains, even if it's a spurious complaint, this mod will ban you. If he doesn't like you or something you've said he'll ban you. I honestly don't care about a ban from their poxy board in itself but I do care about being banned for nothing on the whim of a power crazy mod who bans people just to send a message to Swansea fans. You have been warned. Sorry for the length (oo-er) but I had to get this off my chest. Thanks for listening.
Shocking behaviour by their mod ! They often preach how tolerant they are compared to our lot but they obviously don't practice what they preach. There are a few reasonable posters over there but they are sadly in the minority these days so what else can you expect from the rest ? And with the derby getting closer what should be friendly banter and wind ups on such a rare occasion could be spoilt by a trigger/key happy mod .
Cheers, swantastic. I know it seems a bit petty but I hate getting a punishment for bugger all. Reminds me of when I got the cane in primary school for nicking milk when that bastard Brian Thomas did it. I didn't snitch and took my punishment like a man. But not today.
