Good to see eriksen play with Defoe. - have we seen that yet? I can't remember if we have... Everyone has been raving about holtby and defoe's partnership, but it's only been in Europe against weak opposition. I'm interested to see how the two starting tonight will combine, as it'll give us a bit more perspective. It's also nice to see that ANY of our players could be playing in Europa, which again backs up how seriously AVB takes the competiton. Precisely, some may moan when "lesser" players get game-time over the stars but we have suffered massively in the past by being forced to use players that haven't played enough competitive games when the injuries come around
We really could do with at least one more defender in the squad, but getting Capoue and Rose back would help with the rotation. A strong side out and Chadli might feel a little aggrieved at being left out of both sides this week. I'd expect him to start at least one of the games against Hull. Anyone on the opposition that we might have heard of? Angie currently 1-0 up against Tromso, by the way.
Yeah, the CB/LB situation has been particularly mis-managed. Though there is perhaps some mitigation because of BAEs' antics. AVB should be telling his team that the quicker they get the game wrapped up, the sooner he can bring on the likes of Chadli to get some decent game time.
