His track record so far in the Premiership will not be enough to save him., but like you, I reserve my judgement. :undecided:

"I honestly reckon if we don't get 4th, AVB could be gone."

    Definitely.
Very little of Arrys' squad left, so blaming the inherited squad is out.
Was onboard with Baldini, so blaming the DoF for the squad is out.

Finishing 5th in the PL with > 76 pts, and decent cup runs might just save him.

Yeah I mean it's too early to say now, results have been OK (London derbies aside) though performances not spectacular. Hopefully when everyone gels we can push on and I believe we can do that.

I reckon he'd probably have to win a cup to be honest if we didn't get 4th.

It's a lot of pressure but like you say, he's got pretty much his own squad AND the DOF which he wanted.

Although it was with Bale's money, no other manager has had the financial backing like AVB has had, so he really can't have many excuses for failure.

The Levy Avb and Baldini relationship is exactly what Levy has always wanted.

A young coach who works with a Dof and Levy can trust Baldini to do a job while he is away.

I can't see Levy sacking Avb even if we fail to finish 4th.

I cannot see Levy accepting another CL miss by 1 pt or on GD etc, unless the final points
total is very high. Which is ironic as I doubt he cares much what the final points total is if a CL
    slot is secured.

But whats the guarantee the next coach would deliver or work with Baldini?

How much would it cost to sack Avb, hire a new coach, invest in new players for the new manager? thats why unless Avb truly screws up this year then I'm sure he will be allowed one more season.

Indeed. That is why I feel THFC are on such a knife edge.
New WHL must be constructed ASAP.
CL appearances brings in easy money and sponsors with deeper pockets.

Short of a Sugga Daddy FC splurge on players, there is little more off-pitch that
ENIC can do to influence the on-pitch performances.

Don't worry, we'll sell Townsend to Real in a couple of years to finance the next team

Loaning out perfectly good players ?
and then getting spanked by the likes of West Ham ?,
and then maybe loosing out on Champions League again ?.......... I don't think a good Cup run will be enough.

The words 'nail' and 'Coffin' springs to mind, sadly.

This might or might not be accurate., but Rose is injured.
The managerial decision to banish the more experienced of the two left backs to QPR is beginning to look like a poor one, under the circumstances.

Are you now suggesting that Vertonghen is a better left back then Assou-Ekotto ?.

Assou-Ekotto's not out of the side because of a lack of ability. He's been moved out because he won't do what the manager wants him to do.

And the first moment he shows he will (within reason) , he should be back in the fold.

Maybe not, doesn't take as many chances as Benny, but he can cover for Rose, and i don't think we will see Benny back, even if he is willing to do what his manager want's him to

It's important the manager shows the player he is boss, and that if they step out of line they will not be back in the team.

I liked Benny, but I fully support this stance 100%.

If he was a player of Tevez's calibre/wages it might be a more difficult decision but as it stands AVB will want to asert himself on Spurs in a way he was never able to at Chelsea.

Players need to know who is boss, who picks the team and if they don't pull there weight....they end up in the championship.

Agreed, but in some instances it can be worked around, such as suarez at Liverpool, Rodgers handled that superbly in the end.

Also from what I gather both Adebayor and Ekotto where playing "a game" and showing a lack of respect, so why is Adebayor back in the fold? too expensive to cast off?

Avb has done the right thing if he believes Ekotto deliberately showed him a lack of respect and a manager has to show hes in control, but just curious as to why Adebayor is back training and in contention,
