UEFA should punish CSKA Moscow, not give them a £15,000 fine, i mean like a stadium ban or kick them out of the champions league, it hink that would be more suitable and hopefully they would learn from it but i doubt it. The russian club's deputy media manager is suggesting that Toure is making this all up, i mean really, why would a black player make something as that horrible up, it doesn't make any sense, regardless of who we support, no player should be subjected to racism behaviour or any kind.
Happens all the time Meth, playing the race card. And while Toure is completely innocent in this particular case, and I agree Moscow should be punished, people make up that kinda **** all the time.
CSKA Moscow statement: "Having carefully studied the video of the game, we found no racist insults from fans of CSKA."
Racism is a real problem for Russian society as well as xenophobia and homophobia, the latter not a real phobia, as Morgan Freeman says it's not a phobia you are not ill, you are an asshole How UEFA think they can fix it by punishing the club are beyond me. Playing behind closed doors and denying fans the chance to attend games is the best option.
We all know that whenever there is a 'racism' issue the Liverpool supporters on these boards are the first to comment. Recently when Hodgson was wrongly picked on for an astronaut joke, they were first to condemn the so called race industry and the media. When Toure was abused by monkey chants in CSKA Sofia, it made the headlines in all the sports pages and the sports news. Yet the Liverpool fans here were strangely quiet. The person who is usually the first to post on any race issue was nowhere to be seen (let's say his initials are the same drogba's. ) he would posts hundreds if not thousands of words condemning the so called black lobby at every opportunity. So I posted an innocent and non- provocative OP on their board about the abuse Toure received and the inaction of the referee. A few brave fans condemned the referee and the local fans. But one of their mods promptly closed the thread on the basis that the OP was a United fan and that the topic had nothing to do with Liverpool. Both were not good reasons as we know that non Liverpool supporters should be able to start threads on Liverpool board and secondly there have been loads of non Liverpool related topics on their boards. That thread was the only one about the issue on the board. Rant over but it is disappointing that the mod I thought as enlightened felt it appropriate to close a relevant current topic thread. No one felt abused or threatened by it. So I am hoping that Gerrez will be man enough to recognise that his action was hasty and reopen the thread
