To me it would be quite appropriate I think
With a chorus of this, Saturday,
Regardless of whether we swim or we sink
Just to prove some do want him to stay,
No-one deserves what he´s been through of late
    A thoroughly good, decent man,
It would prove we´re not all off the same slate
As one foul-mouthed and loutish fan,
McNally I hope won´t follow in the trend
    Of Sunderland and now Palace,
And see fit to bring his tenure to an end
Just because of a few who seem crass,
As strong as he may be, Chris Hughton I´m sure
In the heat of a Saturday brew,
Would really appreciate such a gesture
And would lift him and the players too,
So those of you who are able to be there
Show what true Canaries are like,
And with luck at the end there´ll be much to cheer
For the ´Hughton In´s and ´Out´s alike. OTBC

I'd love to hear a few renditions of "There's only one Chris Hughton" on Saturday regardless of the result - not sure it will happen though!!! <cheers>

I think it would be in our interests as well, to be honest, as the mindless minority are doing their best to tarnish the reputation of the fair-minded majority at the moment.

I wonder if Carrubah and KIO are awake yet? But to be serious RBF, it would be an excellent gesture, particularly in light of the recent Facebook nonsense that has been a disturbing distraction and one that is potentilaly damaging to the club. CH is a top man and deserves our full support.

other than the villa game and the infamous redmond substitution when maybe 200 or so in the snakepit made tits of themselves, the home fans have generally sung the 'hughton's y'army' song with vigour, certainly around me in the barclay anyhow. most of the negative vibes are found on forum's and the like, posted by the keyboard warriors, many of whom wouldn't know football if it hit them square in the face. inside the grounds he seems to have large support although i've not been to an away game yet this season so it could be different on the road. i am off to both games in manchester though. mad ferrit <laugh>

Heres my "mindless" and "moronic" view on it. Hughton's got to go. Then again I wouldn't know anything about football if it hit me in the face.

"Yay I think im a "do gooder" so I have a right to label and bully others who disagree."

    for shame on you.

Well let me ask you, can you think of any justification at all for racial abuse, for they were the ones I was referring to when I used the term mindless, not those, who for whatever reason, want to see Hughton out. Those who want to see him out are fully entitled to their opinion, as are those of us who want to see him stay, but using racial abuse to try and achieve their aim is dispicable.

No racism isn't justified ever. However, i'm still bored of the opinions of a few posters on here, (who used to be funny and interesting to read. Going back to the 606 days. The aristocracy of Norwich posters if you will.) who think they have a message board monopoly. The pigs have taken over the farm with some of you!

Well I´m not sure whether you´re including me in that ´you´, :( but although I might have changed some of my views since the BBC days, I haven´t changed the way I express them. However saintly we may try and be, and irrespective of which side of the fence we are on, it´s not easy to please everyone all of the time.

I'm convinced some of the bile against CH on this and other message boards is racially motivated.

What a ridiculous comment ! What evidence do you base that on? I have never seen anything on here which is remotely racial towards CH & I'm one of his biggest critics !!
The ONLY abuse he gets on here is for his football descions.
The day it becomes personal on here it's time to switch the light off !

There is no call for ANY "abuse" directed at CH, whatever it is motivated by. Does wanting to see him replaced justify directing abuse at him?

Not one of the anti-Hughton brigade has been able to suggest a single alternative they would prefer to see appointed. In effect they are saying to McNally "Get shot of Hughton and we trust you to bring in someone who'll do a better job". It doesn't seem to occur to them that CH IS, in McNally's judgement, currently the best man for the job.

If you want CH replaced, at least produce some serious REALISTIC suggestions for a successor. If you can't do that then IMO you don't deserve to be taken seriously. <ok>

i agree with chippy to be honest - i don't think that comment needed to be made. of course, it may be different elsewhere but i'd be astonished if anyone on this particular forum was against hughton because of the colour of his skin. i don't think we keep that kind of 'company' on here.

i'm afraid this is always going to be the problem. many people who want him out seem to want a more eccentric manager in charge or someone who will bring continental flair but can never name one. talk of malky seems to come about purely because he is ex-norwich. he's done a good job at cardiff but he's done no better than hughton as a manager - it would be 'like for like' - and his recent weakness, shown by not standing up to the cardiff owner, has made me a little uneasy about him ever taking over here in the future. if you want 'flamboyance', the ones who fit the bill are the likes of di canio, holloway or keegan or someone like that! i'm sure i speak for everyone in saying 'no thanks!'. we could go down the foreign route but as far as i'm aware, i'm the only person who has ever offered any suggestions on that front and i don't want to change the manager!!! then there are the pick of the lower league managers such as howe, robinson and tisdale but are people seriously telling me they would prefer them to hughton? we actually have a good manager already at the club. he's not perfect but for me, his biggest problem has always been that he's not lambert. and he never will be lambert. but he could be 'our hughton', making his reputation (which is pretty sound outside of a part of norwich) even stronger, someone who actually sticks around for a while rather than pisses off to the first club who comes in for him, someone who can build the club calmly, with dignity and a little bit of class. quite why anyone wouldn't want that is beyond me but they must be impatient, simple as that.

I suppose the question I have for the critics is what exactly has he done wrong this season that would warrant a sacking. We can debate the pros and cons of how the team was set up last season and that we only just managed to stay in the PL.

In my view, it is is very simple, CH and the board have strengthened the team considerably, have modified the midfield to begin to realise the potential of several players, have begun to bed in the new players and gel as a team. There has unquestionably been an improvement in performance,(of course that needs to be turned into results- but surely the best way to get results is through improved team performances, any other suggestion is illogical. We can criticize some of the substitutions, but this is always in hindsight, if they led to a goal then it reflects a wonderful tactical goal, if a goal is conceded then it is a terrible decision both conclusions are nonsensical - there is always a try it and see element to substitutions - it is impossible to know how or whether they will change the game.

WHAT DO YOU SPECIFICALLY WANT FROM CH THAT HE IS NOT PROVIDING? I really would love to know.
