Liverpool v West Brom

Saturday 26 Oct 2013

KO: 15:00

------------------------------------------------------------

This Saturday see's Liverpool take on West Brom at home in the Premier League. This game will have a bit of extra meaning for Liverpool this weekend after West Brom, who are managed by former Liverpool Head Coach Steve Clark, done the double over Liverpool last season, beating them both home and away in the League.

Liverpool have made an impressive start to the season. But a frustrating draw against Newcastle last weekend has dampened the mood slightly for Liverpool. They will be desperate to get back to winning ways in this game.

West Brom have seen some good results of late, taking victory over United and a draw against League leaders Arsenal. But a goalless draw against Stoke last week was a not as impressive a result for Albion. They will be looking to put that right with a win at Anfield and a repeat of last seasons achievement.

These lineups featured in last seasons opening day game between these two sides. West Brom won the game 3-0.

Team news:

Liverpool:

Liverpool will be hoping to have Joe Allen fit to start. Lucas should be available after missing last weekends draw with Newcastle.

Injuries: Coutinho, Aspas, Coates, Enrique.

West Brom:

West Brom are likely to name a physically strong side to try and expose Liverpool's lack of midfield strength.

Injuries: Foster, Gera, Thorne.

Daniel Sturridge is currently the Premier League leading goal scorer with 7 goals in 8 games.

Nice one mate.

Have to win this one, we've lost 4 in the last 5 to West Brom so they have become a bit of a bogey team recently. They're a tidy side, beat Man Utd away from home and got a point against Arsenal too. Will be interesting to see who Rodgers picks in midfield.

cheers jk good job. <ok>

I also thought Ford would be back for this game. :(

has to be a win in this game for us as we need to keep the momentum going after the disapointing Newcastle draw last weekend.

really can't call this one, but i fear another bad result here could really affect us in a bad way psychologically.

is this the game where we finally click into gear? hoping so.

Why are all the players in bold bar Olsson and Morrison...?

Must win game for me, would really really be disappointed with anything other than the 3 points. Don't care if it is a big margin or tight.

agreed. would like a good display to build our confidence though... in fairness to clarke and west brom they looked serioused f'd at the start of the season. I was thinking relegation if it went badly. now they look to have righted the ship somewhat but they lack a bit of quality compared to last year... IMO.

If we flop again we need to take a hard look at ourselves.
