Three points a must for me. There is a record at stake and I want the Swans to be the first one's to do the double. Don't support the idea that anything can happen because its a derby, we go out, pass them off the park and score with two clinical strikes from Bony and Michu. Then we do the same at The Liberty, the home of football in Wales.
Aye, you're probably right. We'll just have to take it on the chin and try to pick up points elsewhere.
I am quietly confident we will do well against the Swans, however i would take losing both of these games if we manage to stay in the division come next year. MM will know the importance of the game and so will Bellers and i totally expect Bellers to start this one as we will need him in games like this. We will need to combat thier passing games and get in their faces from the off to stand a chance of success, if we stand off them then we will get beat.
Can't agree with any of that Isawron - we have little chance either way. Can't see us able to counter their fluid game to get anything from this one.
Sparks is right, the Swans have told us, it'll be a hopeless attempt. Gendros has even told us the scorers so that totally ruins it. Really you'd accept this level of arrogance off Utd, Chelsea and co but ****ing Swansea city, give it a break lads. You might win but you really need to get your head around the fact you might not.......
Yes, Sir Alex imay have invented the concept of mind games in football but they're pretty transparent when others try to emulate him. Good try though, Sparkey. I think most Swans fans fully realise this could go either way, but due to a number of factors we should win it. That's not arrogance, it's confidence. What's wrong with that? I've not seen anyone say we're better than Man City. Get a grip.
You see Aussie, the only problem with playing mind games is that the recipients they're intended for need to possess one. (present company excepted of course...)
i repeat, the games against teams where we can go out and see what happens are united and arsenal. although we have had success against the big boys we need to pick up our points from these games......... at the very least i expect to have a tight game, with a clean sheet as a minimum if bony starts..........
You seem to forget we've got Michu, DeGuzman, Flores ,Routledge , Henendez, Shelvey ,, but worth a try
I really hope we get Howard Webb style refereeing as opposed to Mark Clattenburg style refereeing. Both good refs, but Clattenburg won't appreciate the heightened tension and it could end up with a coupla red cards. Webb has form for letting it flow and issue a few warnings before reaching for cards. It is only one game and losing players will damage that side for a few games to come.
I have to be honest, I find Clattenburg a great ref, he usually gets the big calls right (granted he has had a few bad games) but in the majority I have seen him in, he gets the major calls right, the 1 that really springs to mind was I believe our game, where there was a penalty shout, and he said no, indicating there was a little touch on the ball, the replay proved it right, how the hell he seen it in full motion is beyond, but right he was.
Neutral perspective - I expect Malky McKay will have taken note of how St Gallen attempted to neutralise the Swans passing game - so I expect that the first 20-25 mins will be very 'keenly' contested and the flow of the game will depend on whether the deadlock is broken in that time. If the Swans score in that period and Cardiff are therefore compelled to come out in search of an equaliser than I expect that it will be a very exciting game all round and it will either be that the Swans will exploit the space created and possibly rattle in a couple more or, should Cardiff get an equaliser. it might then transpire that they can exploit the fact that the Liberty crowd will be desperate to go for a winner and that a smash and grab fon the break and all three points is on .... after that thorough analysis I'm predicting a very tight 0-0 draw
There is one problem with that analysis we're away first but feel free to post this again in February
