I actually rate all 3. Brown was great when he was younger, but then Man U bought Ferdinand for 26mil and Vidic, then Evans came through and they bought Smalling for 10million, right back they had garry neville, left back evra, then they bought the twins. suprised he stayed at Man U for so long tbh. O`Shea is very versatile he can play all along the back line, same as Brown i believe, but again lots of players agead of him in the pecking order. Gibson from what i have seen of him i like, good engine, good passer, great shot on him, can score goals from midfield which is what we are severly lacking.
Absolutely correct, these players, ie Brown is knackered, not got fifteen games as sub in him, a regular sicknote, Oshea was decent a decade ago, a bargain, I think not. and Gibson, son of Murphey.
brown not my first choice either, slow and not particularly composed on the ball. there's a good reason those two are laughed at/despised by a lot of yernited fans. gibson's alright cos he's young, but whatever you say about henderson, he's definitely a better player than the united lad. gone backwards so far bruce.
I wouldn't mind signing them its just the fee reported is insane. Wes Brown shoud be free and on a pay as you play. O'shea? injured a lot, what did Neville go to Everton for? knock £2m off that. Gibson? anyones guess but is he better than Cattermole, Colback or Meyler? not from what I've seen.
I reckon of the 12 million being mentioned that the bulk of the fee (approx 6-7 million )would account for Gibson a player still young and with great potential. Lets remember folks O Shea still has not been confirmed could be any bugger !!! As for Mr Brown Iam a wee bit dissappointed as I thought we might have made a move for Hutton at right back given the fact that we were apparantly quoted stupid money for Onuah.
You got 20mil to spend now from selling Henderson fam, use the rest of the 8million to buy Nolan of Newcastle....Sorted.
O`Shea & Brown have good PL Experience which is what we need and Gibson can only get better with games under his belt. I do think the 12m is a bit high i would say 9-10m for the 3 would be fair
Well i love United and watch them as much as possible. I'm not a fan of any of these players playing for United. I'm caught in two minds whether O'Shea and Gibson will be good signings, but feel pretty sure Brown is not what we need. O'shea is not a centre halve and he's not a fullback. O'Shea must be valued close to 5 million in this deal, i strongly believe we could get Onouha for 5-6 million. We need more attacking intent from fullback, last season was pretty abysmal. Gibson, given a huge amount of time and space, can strike a nice ball for a good pass or shot at goal. He's got shocking movement, positioning and people tend to go past him easily. He may be a decent signing for us. I feel like Bruce, in typical ex united player turned manager fashion, is taking any United player he can possibly get his hands on. Plays into fergie's hands with him wanted to get red of unwanted players with imminent arrival of Phil Jones.
WE SHOULD NOT TAKE ANY MANU F*CKING HAS-BEENS Lol Bart Just think if we'd kept KJ, DB, JH - we would have a f*cking hell ov a team Lol Bart - am quite more pissed now
Can we really afford to be pickey right now? Our squad can only described as being threadbare and we need strength and depth. Lets just see where this goes. its still early days
im still not convinced all three will come, can we afford them, or will we pay their salaries? bet they are on a canny bit at man u, so will they take a pay cut to come to the sol......
How do you know?? Remember there are a lot of players who haven't cut it at United or havn't looked "as good" as some others - but when they've moved to a different club they have done well (talking abouot Gibson here) As for O'Shea - I personally think he'd be a top signing - well experienced and was still a fringe player in the season just gone but now with all the new signings he is a little down the pecking order. Good signing - Brown is experienced but has an injury problem but was still a fringe player when fit.
Bart - Jones was terrible in his final season - only thing he was good at was defending set pieces - going forward he was awful for us and too lazy. Bent - had we "kept" him we'd have had a player who wanted to be somewhere else - normally detrimental to the team - replace yes but not keep (and I still think we should've replaced him). And Henderson - poor second half of the season but full amount received is profit as he cost zilch to "buy" in the first place
Great signings, all three.. Bags of experience at the highest levels and that is something we are sorely lacking after the departure of bolo.. they are all three winners and again thats something we need.. also they no how to turn a game around, how many times have we seen Utd losing or drawing a game at half time and end up winning it, its that kind of mentallity that as a group of players we haven't had for a very long time and one we desperatly need.. O'Shea and Brown have both been at Utd for over a decade and you don't get to stay at a club of that magnitude for no reason, SAF would have had them out the door long ago if he didn't think they were useful to have around, I'm not even sure he'll let O'Shea leave as he can play anywhere across the back four or in midfield.. I fact I'm sure i've seen him play up front for Utd a few times and do very well and score some good goals. I know I don't post on here very often and that may offend some people but I think there are some fans who while I have no doubt love our club as much as I do, need a serious reality check on the type of player we should be looking at at this stage in our progression to a consistant top 10 club.. Players of Brown, O'shea and Gibson's quality and experience will do nothing but help our squad move forward and achieve what all of us have waited so long to see, European football at SOL.. I'm sorry if I have offended anybody with my point of view it is not my intention.
