http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24647259 A 15K fine is surely on the way for CSKA. And let's not forget where the 2018 world cup is.....
We only think that because we're **** at Winter sports. On a more serious note you only have to see how homophobic Russia is so racism there doesn't susprise me.Obviously the Russian authorities have no problem with racism
I think the homophobic accusation was more in reference to recent Russian Govt legislation as opposed to homophobic football crowds. That being said in general homophobia is probably the last of the big prejudices to still be accepted worldwide.
Amusing... http://gawker.com/stephen-fry-hands-anti-gay-russian-lawmaker-his-ass-1447405079 I'm beginning to get a picture in my head about how world cup locations are picked. Sepp turns up with an old fashioned set of seesaw balancing scales. On one side he puts on a load of ballast representing everything that is wrong with the country's bid. Then he just asks the country to put enough cash on the other side until it balances it out. "Racist fans? Ouch, that's another £100m I'm afraid... Homophobia too?...Double it"
Actually I wouldn't. They need to ban them from next season's champs league, only way anything will change
Well it looks like the racists won. According to FIFA, the evidence from Yaya Toure was inconclusive.
This is in no way a defence but 50 years ago there was black and white segregation in the US, that country now has biggest mix of ethnic cultures in the world so progress can be achieved but it takes time. Russia is a country that was hidden from the world until 20 years ago, its people were denied the knowledge of the outside world, it's a country dominated by corruption with many of the worlds richest people stealing chunks of land and the rich natural resources that exist there, it will take time but the country needs to evolve and develop in the same way the US did and only when that happens will the racist attitudes change. It will never be eradicated fully as it still exists in a tiny minority in the US and even here, and it may even take 2 or 3 generations, but they'll get there...
I think we also have to take into account that we had an empire and generally we are used to seeing people of different races in the UK.Russia and other countries in eastern Europe never had empires and are less used to seeing people of other races.I would just like to point out I'm not defending racism
Talking about Fifa, there is apparently going to be a movie made about them and Blatter. http://www.theguardian.com/football...fifa-football-f2014-tim-roth-gerard-depardieu What the actual ****?
