And so, the voice of one of lifes true non entities, enters the converstion stage left. Nothing of interest to say and no-one to listen to it anyway. What a sad lonely waste of breath you are Cyprus.

Well i just sent you a PM apologising, so yes i appologise as well, was just the my posts are pig **** or whatever you said got me riled lol

Honestly though, its a very fine line between Deluded, Optomistic, Realistic, Pessimistic. yes i want progress but not the detriment of the club itself, look at Portsmouth for that, if we have to sell our best young players to get 4 new players in then so be it, i dont really like it, but its the world we live in im afraid, the top dogs will always take the cream from the top of the others, its always been like that and always will be. Just like we will probably take some from the relegeted sides or the ones that finished below us, their fans wont be happy, but we will be over the moon. (if they perform)

Steve we all say things from the heart because we are all far too passionate about SAFC. One mans salvation is another purgatory.

If we do have a good season and N'Gog turns out to be the player I certainly have never seen this far, then the club benefits and my rants and raves mean **** all in the big picture.

I'd sooner be 100% wrong about Bruce, some of these players we are linked with and anything else negative but I cant help assess my fears as I see them. That makes me fall foul of many people in life but a leopard cant change its spots. I speak with my heart on my sleeve and frustration of things red & white sometimes cloud's my judgement.

Good to hear we can at least be civil with each other.

Cyprus - for jumping in with your pathetic two penneth worth right at the end, when it had **** all to do with you, this offer is not extended. Ok?

really though the top 8 have the pulling power, yes we are blinded by the might of Sunderland lol but in the grand scheme of things, we are just small fish in a very big pond, even Man U/Arsenal fall foul to it with barca and real and the other European giants.

If you have the cash to splash, then you can get anyone, and if you are a top 8 club it helps enormously, yes this season we missed a trick, and we could and probably should have got into that bracket, but even when Fulham did, they didnt exactly bring in World renowned stars, and i doubt Stoke, or fulham will this year either. (and Brum def wont).

There would be nothing better for me if we were top 6 year after year, but its not going to be easy, selling Henderson isnt going to blight that (Bent maybe), maybe we have another right winger coming through the ranks, that has even more potential than henderson (no idea if we have but its a possiblity). I just think the deal was too good to refuse, and not to have a go at Short here really, but he hasnt exactly bankrolled Bruce over the past 2 years, we are 5 million in profit, so there has to have been a lot of wheeling and dealing, he had to sell waghorn to finance the gyan deal for example.

Is there cash there, of course there is, is there multi millions there to spend without recuperating any of it, no. We have to sell to buy, but we also need a bigger squad, so sell 1 and bring in 4 for the same price, if they fail miserably, then its on Bruces head, just like if Carrol and Henderson fail its on Kennys head, but we need the numbers after our injury hit season last season.

The only thing i dont really understand though, and its ironic, of all the players to sell after an injury hit season, is the only player that never got injured lol

    Go away man.

You jumped straight in to the debate with 2 feet, launching a personal attack not associated with the thread at all. What do you expect?

    A kiss and a cuddle?

Do you often throw meaningless, childish insults as well then from the keyboard?

    Mmmmmmm? I guess Yep?

Epilogue: Ngog not part of the deal, leave 19.25 million in the bank for a few days and you would have £20million(as if it would be a lum sum)

Personally I feel we got an amazing deal for Henderson who is clearly a limited player. We currently have better options in our squad than him anyway IMO. The Ngog deal is fine if its 3-5 million and hes seen as a 3rd/4th choice striker. Personally I think Adam Johnson is a shout and I would be keeping a close eye on City anyway to see who they bring in and who that may potentially free up. It seems we have missed the boat on Onuoha, we should have signed him permanently in January when he actually wanted to come. I wouldnt grumble if we brought in Gibson and one of O'shea/Brown dont feel we need them both and surely there are better full back options out there. I would also put a bid in for Bendtner (I know hes a twat) but hes a decent footballer and has past connections with Bruce after all he can only say no. Other than that striker wise im stumped as sturridge/welbeck wont be going anywhere so looks like we may have to make a move for someone from the continent (No more south americans please brucie weve had loads and only Julio was any good).

On a different topic I would be bidding for Nolan/Barton from down the road would add a bit of quality and a few goals from midfield. Time will tell what happens but personally im far from panicking yet after all its still June the seasons a full 2 months away yet things will happen and i will only start to panic if we sell gyan cos then we are fooked.

Haven't been on here for a while, but had a read of this post, and felt I had to comment. Anyway, I have been on BBC 606 for years, and Cest has been around for some time. I thought he talked a lot of sense, but either he has a) lost the plot, b) It's not him from bbc606 or c) His account has been hacked.

Couldn't disagree more with your rant, and like some supporters have faith in player recruitment over the summer under Bruce. We are 10 days into the Summer transfer window for christ sake......

I was sad to see Henderson go, but we got fantastic money for him. I find it cringeworthy that SAFC fans thinks he's world class now we sold him. How about 4 months ago, when even sections of the crowd booed him for some disapointing performances. We could argue he was tired or burnt out, but he was still covering on average 13k a game, which was up there with the top atheletes of the premier league. I just think he has a great engine, which offers a great platform to be a complete box to box midfielder, but there is a lot of work for him to turn into a 20 million pound player.

The Mirror had an article today saying the only reason Henderson ran 13k per game was because is first touch was so bad. Found that very funny considering he is now a Liverpool player.

Anyway, message for Cest. Wake-up and stop being fickle!

  15. This has to be the most interesting thread of all time..

Why we all have reservations about Bruce and I am a big critic, Cest speaks as a man who walked in and out of the SOL last season thinking WTF was that all about. I agree with him on a lot of points and after the 5-1 stuffing at Sid James would have had him hung, drawn & quartered. A few good results after that was followed by the worst managerial cock-ups since Lawrie McEnemys reign and performances straight from the Safc 1986 book of how not to play football.

Tensions are high and these next few weeks will have a lot of bearing on the fans for the pre-seasons and 1st home game. My point is, we all disagree with fellow fans in the Wheatsheaf and other pubs before a game but we don't kick the **** out of each other? In my day, we saved that for the die-hard debris that invaded the City on matchdays. Lets not have an us & them scenario on these boards and turn what should be a little bit of pastime pleasure into a hate game.

We are Safc, we all have lives whether good or bad and we are all together in our goal for our club. Whether we differ in opinions or not we should always respect..

    Ha' Way the Laaaaaaads..

Even 10 million is a lot for a player who only has potential and has yet to prove himself. We could buy an established International from Europe for that.

As for 60 grand a week. If we really and truley do have ambition this is the sort of money the big clubs pay and we will have to do the same if we are seriously wanting to cahellenge them (which I am now seriously beginning to doubt)

How many good players have we lost in the past because we have been unable to agree personal terms. How many times will this happen again this time around.

When I look at the history of our present run in the premier league I see very little significant change fom any of all the other seasons (and there are many) that I have supported this club.

This season has got to be a turning point.

Remember Mr Quinn. If you pay peanuts...................
