I've always been kinda fascinated how "the English" never have rated Ibra! "He doesn't deliver against the English teams etc...." But surely at this point, after the last year or so even you guys who has given him the above critic must give him some credit now? How high do you rate him? I decided to watch that match tonight, and I wasn't disappointed. I'm glad I have chosen to follow PSG's matches this season. I have always been a massive fan of Ibra, probably since his Ajax days (used to watch Dutch football a bit). He's arguably the best player currently around who has never won a European trophy. Best striker in the World imo.
He did this on Saturday...
He did it against England instead
A couple of those mentioned will be repeated in this vid...
I'm just fearing the day he retires..... People feared when Henrik Larsson was getting older, but we got Ibra replacing him. I can't see anyone coming near his standard in the future. Unless John Guidetti starts being a miracle worker.....
I like his attitude. He does it with a "" Another legendary clip
A lot of people are considered the '3rd best' player in the World, but I think Ibra stands out above nearly every player other than the 'big two'.
Watching him play is fun. You almost expect him to do something amazing with the ball every time he touches it.
The amount of arguments Ive had about this guy.... I have never understood why people claim he is overrated or indeed that he doesnt do it against English teams. I mean, that theory works if you completely discount the way he single handedly tore Arsenal apart at the Emirates when playing for Barca and then again the same team when playing for Milan at Giuseppe Meazza. The only conclusion I can make is its cos clueless ****s like Andy Townsend keep saying it and people swallow it as fact without actually thinking for themselves. Hasnt he won the league something like 9 out of the last 10 seasons now across 4 of the biggest leagues in europe, only failing with Milan? That doesnt happen by accident. Another point, he holds all the fitness and strength records for Milan in their entire history.
Clubs have fitness and strength records? Who holds ours? My money's on Gary Brabin for fitness and Stuart Green for strength.
We've had this conversation before. It's because the actual stats (which I looked up and posted last time) show his return against English sides up to that point (as I haven't kept track since then) was far worse than his overall career returns. Doing it in 2 games out of however many he'd played up to that point doesn't prove wrong the theory that he doesn't perform to the same level against English sides as he does foreign (to us) sides.
