Trouble with Mick and the other "celts" is they are stuck in the past. We moved on from the "oh my god that could be construed as racist - ban it" phase in the 1980s. We are now the other side of post-ironic comedy racism and a term such as "darkies" could not possibly viewed as racist because that would be ridiculous. It's straight out of the 1970s just like Outer Mong-Celtia. There was nothing wrong with your blacks v whites post and my answer: the blacks would win just as ireland raise their game once a year to beat England at rugby.

The fact that you think black people are not proud to be considered a different a category of person makes me think you don't know a single balck person, far less have any black friends.

It's more offensive to suggest we are all entirely the same with no differences. Go back and read you guardian you wooly left wing liberal fool.

Yes the black people I know have all espoused their pride at being a different skin tint to me. I never suggested we are all the same, I'm saying you grouped a diverse group of people as darkies. I'm still perplexed as to why you think you have a point of free speech here, I'm sure you wouldn't use your right to such free speech in front of your employer.

For a forum moderator you should really try to learn the difference between how people talk to employers and how people express theirselves on an anonymous internet forum.

I read your post again and seen that you also called the white people "crackers", which is a term I've never heard of but Google says is derogatory - news to me. So aye I can see now that you probably weren't meaning for it to be anything but light hearted, and I might have been a bit quick to close it.

But in truth I'm still more comfortable with it closed. No doubt some ****head will take the prompt to worsen the tone and I can't be annoyed playing referee for when it finally crosses the line - and it does inevitably cross the line on here.

Funny how people come on here and throw their toys out of the pram when they don't get what they want and threaten to leave and go onto Ja606.

The idea to have a Black Players XI vs White Players XI thread is a good idea IMO, but not when you then refer to them as "Crackers" and "Darkies" you tool.

    Hmmm...

You have black friends but have never heard the word "cracker"?

Are you so PC you don't even have black/white banter with your mates?

Regardless, I appreciate that you are trying to be magnanimous and I respect you for it.

Now, I'm off to crack jokes about fat birds, ****s, rape and pikeys.

    Only kidding. Cheers, fella.

I'd just like to add, there is no such thing as 'free speech', yes you CAN say what you want, BUT you can also be punished for doing so, people go to jail for slander (very rarely), defamation and being offensive and seeing as how if you're charged with offensive behaviour you're guilty until you prove yourself innocent*, you're ****ed.

*Anyone can claim to be offended by something and if the police deem it as being offensive, the defendant has to prove that it isn't, or at least wasn't meant to be and that's far from being easy to do.

Don't forget Down Syndrome children. They can't even be bothered to defend themselves, so you always get away with it.

I fail to see the irony in my comment.

It's not Mick's fault. Under UK or Irish law, he can be prosecuted for hosting a website which knowingly allows slanderous posts, or hate speech. You have a problem with that, take it up with your MP, not with the mods on this forum.

I'm surprised he's survived until now to be honest. That explains why he's always travelling. He's a fugitive web-designer, fleeing country after country within hours of setting up his latest sick creation.
