Palace like Sunderland like us last year went mad and signed loads of new players and in fact they signed so many that some didn't make it into the 25 man PL squad. I believe that Olly didn't actually have much say in the players that were signed so you have to feel for him.
What a joke Palace got up with a massive slice of luck and should even be there IMO ... should of just used the season to make a few bob for the very good Palace fans and come back down with a better plan ... Th eboard at Palace really think they will stay up? Dream on without making some major signings ... oh they can't they don't have the money. Who would want to manage that now?
Predictable event - in the end, it appears he had neither the confidence of the chairman or much of the dressing room Palace seem to have QPR syndrome - Questionable Player Resolve - same old story, the incoming primadonnas are resented by the promotion strivers It's early in the season, yet already too late to save them
Think its as much lack of quality as resolve Goldie. DT is right, it was fluke that they got up in the first place, they didn't have a plan, as evidenced by the fact that they are playing Gabbidon, who we thought was too old for us 2 years ago. They should have rolled in the cash and planned for a sustainable bounce back.
Add Delaney to Gabbidon! Yes, wouldn't disagree, Stan, but there does seem to be a player rift between the old and the new. In our case and Palace's there was a scramble to get in talent and what resulted was resentment by the old and arrogance and indifference from the new. I worry that the more veteran players we bring in now to get us up, the more likely they'll have to be supplemented if we are promoted...and the same cycle starts again
You're not alone there. I've said that all along. Palace think they should stay up but didn't go all in to do it, they should have just done a WBA and been a yoyo club, now they will still get relegated but might not have the man to get them up again.
****, I'm agreeing with you too. Anybody else like me to agree with them? Where's Stan? Nah, I couldn't possibly... could I?
If we ever agree Ubes a special portal into the dark regions opens up and legions of demons wearing Chelsea shirts flood in, morphing into an army of Joey Bartons, taking over all media outlets, prisons and the means of production (a call centre in Hartlepool). We must remain vigilant.
You get up and of course concerns over quality ... We did it wrong Jason as it ruins the very team spirit that got you up ... Hull look OK at bringing in the right sort
From the way Ollie looked on Moday night I'd have thought that this was a blessed relief for him. I imagine that a few chairmen of Championship clubs are looking on with interest.
