Using your logic Man United are now a weak team. Three months and approx 1pt per game. I suggest watching some football before talking about it.
No, I said 26 games. You are talking about 6 or 7 games?? Also United are definitely a well established very strong side. How can you even put United and Swansea in the same sentence? Your first two sentences show your lack of knowledge and your last sentence sums up the your arrogance
Why isit you only seem interested in the calendar year? The calendar year counts for absolutely nothing in terms of league season. What matters is that last year we finished 9th. This year we are currently 11th. Now I'm no genius but don't these positions indicate mid-table? Maybe you should contact the league and explain how in this calendar year you have accumulated a lot more points than your league position suggests and ask them to bump you up a few places from 17th
Again someone tries to shift it back to us. You don't get that we accept 17th is where we are and where we deserve to be. We admit we are weak. We are not lying to ourselves. I am just amazed at how defensive you lot are being and how accepting you of being in this rather lonnnng slump. It doesn't really matter when it occurs. Instead of anybody saying, "yeah we hope to improve soon", you have all been sticking to the story that you are a well established middle table team. Fine. I have nothing else on this issue because the numbers speak for themselves. 26 games=28 points is a concern for the majority of teams and the responses by people happily accepting it here are strange. I will leave it at that.
temple they can't accept that since january 13 their form has been on a downward spiral-leave them to it. no point in arguing any more.
Please tell me your stupid, would explain your lack of understanding, but then again, it is afterall your first time in the premier league, so suppose we should forgive you for your misunderstanding. The premier league plays 8 less games than the championship, and 28 from 26, works out an average of 1.08 per game. Just so you understand here Dafydd, 1.08 points per game. Got it? no? ok, write it down. Now a premier league season is 38 games long, you got it? 38, again write that down. 38. 38 games at an average of 1.08 points per game. Ok, don't write this down, you may get a headache, I will do it for you. 1.08 x 38 = 41 points. Now lets look at the last few years and see how many have been relegated on 41 points. Ah to save you the trouble 2012/13 = 0 - would have finished tied 14th 2011/12 = 0 - 16th 2010/11 = 0 - 17th ****, its looking good this aint it....... 2009/10 = 0 - 14th 2008/09 = 0 - tied 13th Your wum is back firing big time here Dafydd....... 2007/08 = 0 - 14th 2006/07 = 0 - tied 15th 2005/06 = 0 - 17th 2004/05 = 0 - 16th 2003/04 = 0 - tied 16th 2002/03.....DING DING DING WE HAVE A WINNER!!!!!! West Ham United = 42 points You my friend, can only DREAM of a points run like our "NIGHTMARE" run as you call it, so that you will survive. But then your a realist, you know your ****, and our worst day will be your best dreams.
This is my point, your current form is good enough to stay up. On a poor season it'll get you bottom end of mid table 14/15, most seasons it'll be good enough for 16/17. SOOOOOOO why are you all so ****ing confident you are shoe in's to stay up? We know we aren't. 41pts is 2 bits of bad luck in April or May away from relegation. I'd be shocked to see Swansea relegated but your form over 27 games (that's a long time) says you'll be nearer our end of the table than the top 6 finish you were all discussing before a ball was kicked. Now it might be you'll start a run of form over the next 10 games to totally dismiss that theory and show you are the quality side you lot are convinced you are BUT right now your form for the last 10 months says you are aiming to stay in this league and little more. If you can't do those maths it's you that need the lesson.
The run your using as a bad run, only goes to prove that even on our worst run, its not relegation form. So we really shouldn't be too worried about relegation based on that. All it does is show that we are not as weak as you may think. So how the hell do you think we should be feeling. Worried we might come bottom if we don't get out of this bad run of form? lol As the saying goes, the only way is up (granted it doesn't always happen, but then your basing this run as "nightmarish" so yeh, can only be up really, and if thats the case, we really do have nothing to worry about, thanks for you cardiff lot proving to me, that even on a nightmare run, we won't get relegated.
But as someone pointed out earlier the formbook goes out the window for a derby match (please don't try to stat away at that one) so who cares what kind of form your in?
Dear fellow Jacks I think we should end this for now and revisit after their 3 games against weak opponents and conclude this
Blue Sheep: check Swamp's comments. He's deadly serious even though he's now backtracking. No wind up here. As a student maybe he should understand the English Language before attempting something more complicated. "Weak opposition" has now become 'weaker opposition in the Division compared to Man U'. If you don't see a difference then I'm sorry, you're dull. Nobody would disagree with the latter assessment. You're on form swanselona, I'll give you that. I keep seeing phrases like "calendar year" and "long slump". It really smacks of desperation doesn't it? As you rightly say calendar year means nothing at all. We've brought in half a team in the middle of that calendar year. Also, where's the "slump"? Again, as rightly pointed out only Southampton away was a really bad result for us but in fairness they're on fire right now anyway. We've had two excellent wins away from home and thumped Sunderland. Talking of which, now they really are in a slump. Palace are also in a slump. Swansea? Hardly. The comment has also been made that we are expecting to do well whilst Cardiff "just worry about doing the best we can". That may be so but two things spring to mind. Firstly, we're a tad more established so expectation levels are bound to be higher. Sparkey has even said so earlier, and he's right. Secondly, 'doing the best you can' looks like it may not be enough for good old Mr Tan, and I will be amazed if your Manager stays the course. I'm shocked that he gets praise from some of you for being an astute businessman who wants his 'investment' managed properly (nothing wrong with that) but you ignore the fact he's appointed a painter and decorator as the main Scout. Try and defend that one if you can. Oh that's right, you can't. Nothing astute about appointing your son's mate in a job he knows nothing about.
What makes us so confident is that the fact we are on a 'nightmare' run of form we still currently stand at 11th place. You can go back as far as you want to prove we are on a downward spiral, but again, last season 9th, this season 11th. That's all that matters. I can't wait to see how high up we get after we get out of this terrible run of form .
FFS Aussie - get over the painter and decorator bit - it's been done to death! It was clearly done by Tan to make a point at the time regarding his authority. Do you really think he would trust the spending of his considerable dollups of dosh to such a candidate? It's already been announced in the board meeting that an acquistion panel (of sorts) is to be set up to deal with recruitment over which Malky will have the final say. For goodness sake get off that particular hobby horse and start talking about football instead of muck-raking - you know you can do it if you try.
What you boys dont realise is that on the last day of the January transfer window our top scorer of the previous season signed for Sunderland. This left us without adequate cover as he left us in the cachi. More fool him!!! Anyway we were close to survival so Huw didnt panic and kept the 5 million transfer fee for this season <He is careful with our money> Note beno! So what I am saying is last seasons results mean bugger all with this season or the season before or the season before that. There are 30 more games left of this season ie. 90 points- may the best team win!!!!!
That's the best response to this, along with the stat fest at the beginning. Losing your striker is a decent point. To clarify one thing, the reason we're using the calendar year is around the time of your cup victory you dropped off a form cliff. It's interesting to see where it goes from there, it's why I found the response about the quality of opponents interesting. And FFS knackered/Aussie/whatever the attempt to drag the board room into this was beyond desperate. You've been better than that recently.
If we had lost say 6 on the bounce but won the previous 20 would that still mean we are on sensational form? Or would the fact that we would be more or less bottom of the prem after 8 games indicate we are on a bad run of form? I'm curious as to how you answer this seeing as using the calendar year seems so important to the majority here.
