Potassium Nitrate ....................60% Charcoal Powder ....................20% Ammonium Chloride ................20% Non Toxic
No comment as to why there were no problems caused by the hundreds of flares and smoke bombs set off in the clip I posted? Why there weren't people burnt to death as the stadium went up in flames, especially as not only were these supposedly dangerous things going off they were lobbing loads of paper streamers about as well. Obviously you are loathe to admit you were spouting ill-informed rubbish.
I can find details of flare ingredients on wiki, but they relate to military and nautical flares, which are completely different and are not what we're talking about. I can find naff all about the ingredients of football flares, including on skydiving and paint balling sites.
How do flares even make an atmosphere? I'm not saying they don't but I don't see how they do. They don't make noise or cheer on the team, and the game must be pretty boring if its more interesting to sit and watch a firework.
Those bobbly ones are probably a choking hazard too. Why do they put them in there, nobody likes the bobbly ones?
so from smoke bombs you move on to flares? And i did say smoke bombs? Sure i did? But Please look up these nice colour ones and see what they contain! If iam wrong then i am Really sorry for Any upsetment i have caursed, And for the gentle man and the DIY ones? Lite it hold and see what happens? I am sorry i carnt dig up all the info as i am on my smartphone (not the best) and on site working but will try to add light to.this for everyone, but this has been done before ZZZZzzz
Flare - Continental Flask - British If someone could invent the 'Flark' we could have a flask with a flare attached to appease all
This thread is about flares being let off at football matches, they're called football flares, they cost £1.70 each and are easy to buy online... http://www.pyrogate.eu/lights/flare.html
How many people need to be injured before some of you accept these aren't a good idea, and in any case are unnecessary? I don't see why showing grounds completely NOT like ours, and not like the majority in England, are being shown as an example of how pretty they look. Cheerleaders can be pretty too (yes, I know, not always, no need for *that* image, thanks). Bands can make nice sounds. Goal music is meant to enthuse the fans. Doesn't mean we need them to improve the atmosphere either. Is this a neanderthal "oooooooofire" thing?
Why are they homemade? Or do they buy them? I am sure you said DIY ones! Bet they dont hold a DIY smoke bomb, just like ariston
There are reports on the Aston Villa fan who suffered inhalation difficulties after being near a flare. My issue is this: I do believe that smoke bombs can be safe and can be used without harm, I fully accept that some fans like the effect and I would not report a fan for having a smoke bomb. However, how do I know if it is a safe or if it is dangerous? How do I know that the person letting a smoke bomb off is responsible and has brought a safe smoke bomb. Flares are a different kettle of fish, I would stop anyone using a flare in any crowd, not just at football. It isn't impossible for these things to be done in a safe way and rather than ban them the clubs should find a way of working with the small groups of fans who want to see them used. They have these club flag waving blokes at Chelsea, why not have a similar thing for safe smoke bombs, who could argue against that. I know that the club is open to this sort of thing and in reality they cannot be any worse than those exploding paper things.
How many have been injured Happy? Is there a list? Where are the facts that point to the dangers? Why have there been no widely reported injuries in this country despite the linesman (wrongly) getting one on the back of his head on Sunday? Why are there not widely reported injury issues with their use in other countries? Why have no Stadiums reported large scale fire issues? What are the significant differences that make them safe in foreign stadiums but not English Stadiums? Why were there no widely reported injuries or illnesses after they were widely used at Wembley last week? They are a bit of fun, that's all. Last season the Allams were inviting the Ulltras to discuss the use of these safe smoke bombs within the stadium.
Where did I say they used DIY ones? I just offered a recipe for people who wanted to prepare them at home. You're just being a little bit silly. Piecing together illogical arguments in hard to understand sentences, offering no evidence to support your arguments, suggesting others find the evidence you fail to produce yourself & then adding offensive insults to the end of your ill informed opinions is not the right way to debate this very serious issue.
That's the only flare related injury I could find. He was fifteen, he didn't seek any medical help until the next day and he was in the middle of a whole load of flares. If that's the only example anyone can come up with, I'd suggest they're pretty safe, I can find more injuries at games from hot tea and coffee spills.
Grounds not like ours? There are loads of grounds exactly like ours in Europe where theynare set off. In any case, if they don't cause problems in an indoor arena like the one Lambrettaman showed, especially as paper is being thrown about as well itrather undermines any arguments about them being a problem in somewhere not totally enclosed like the KC?
Potassium nitrate burns extremely hot and extremely fast. Its the main ingredient of gunpowder (the other being an oxidant allowing the explosive material to burn). Potassium nitrate can't be in cool burning smoke bombs as like I said, it burns far too hot for the dyes. You can't create a coloured smoke with it. So those ingredients are for the wrong item.
There was a lad killed by one earlier this year somewhere in the world. I can't remember exactly, it was posted on here months ago on another thread about them, I think it was in Brazil.
