dont see what the problem is if it is true. besides, he might have been offered the job, but the start date only been after those 2 games. Short might have offered him the job, provided that Ball didnt work a miracle in those 2 games and win. lots of ifs and buts surrounding that rumour "in football circles" that the journo is not saying cos it makes the statement less juicy.
Or maybe we did a thorough job in recruiting a manager, interviewing many candidates in the process starting with the strongest first? Have we forgotten the amount of coaches who we heard were getting interviews only for their odds to shorten in the following days? I think the board held off the appointment due to those two games any new manager buzz would be destroyed with two defeats in first two games. Not for one minute do I think he said 'lets talk after those two games eh?
