I have given as many compliments as criticisms to SOD, this is not a popularity contest, we have all got minds and opinions of our own, there is a certain small select band of users on this board that purports points of view which not many members agree with, people pm me having a go that I should react to stop them, I am a believer that all opinions are valid and have a right to be heard and that includes my own. If we are achieving crap results and the team is failing the manager should be told of our feelings, he's not special or a messiah, his record of achievement is not that great and with us he has down sized our club, relegated us, sold the family silver and is with out doubt the one to blame for our low quality football and bottom of the league position. That of course is just my opinion..
Sorry, is this not still a free country or are we all supposed to follow SOD like sheep and all have the same opinion ? If people dont like what is written on these pages then they can choose to ignore it. There is absolutely no obligation to respond. All this fuss despite the stats showing he has the worst record of any manager we've ever had ? When there is praise to be had for a result, performance, inspired substition or whatever we'll be right there, but I'm not about to keep quiet about something that I don't and now cant believe in, and that will take us even further towards the edge of the abyss if it's allowed to continue. He's had his time and it hasn't worked in any way, shape, or form. We all wanted him to succeed but he hasn't either in the Championship or in L1, and that's the end of the story
Totally agree with Wiz and Angelic, its a free forum, we all have our opinions, not all of us agree, and thats what its all about. I don't agree with certain posters on here, but i respect there opinion, we have a little pop at each other, doesn't mean they are right, and vice versa. At the moment we are all focused on our dire situation, the blame must lay with the board for there bad appointments over the last four years, and it has to be said, the latest is there worst, 21 games since our last league win, what manager would survive that kind of record, none, so to the board, time to act now, we need a Martin Allan type character, someone with a bit of fire in there belly, until then we will always struggle.
I think the journalist had the right to ask the question. I think most of us are fed up of these nicey nice tweets from SOD and knowing it was live the journalist knew he would have to answer. A good journalist need to ask the hard questions thats why things like Nixon / Frost will always be remembered.
It was this quote: My post was in reference to this post, where it was acknowledged that others had said that the moderators had been labelled as negative, a mere two months ago.
in case some of you actually didnt hear it and want to hear the whole interview then here is the video of it http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24635864#asset maybe a stupid question but quite a few times during that interview i thought he was rude and out of order to the interview. at the end where he was waving his arms about was just disgusting even if it was a stupid question.
First time I heard it, just painful.... "People are only going to talk about the result and not the performance"... Sorry Sean, the result at the end of it all, is all that counts when its week in week out of NOT winning games. The performance means nothing, as no one remembers the performance when you have been relegated.
I don't feel that any of us have to explain or defend our personal opinions whether they are negative, positive or neutral providing they are within the laws of the land. The fact that we are moderators makes no difference whatsoever.
Very silly reaction from him, i think saturday will be his last game unless they get a result up there I think the question was a fair one all he had to do was say yes of course but his reaction seemed babyish from him.
Just watched the full interview too- He would benefit from some media training. Still need to put on a brave face at times even when its difficult- The Kevin Keegan interview springs to mind which effectively handed the title to Man U.
what worries me most is the comments of "making the right decisions", "performances", well what does SOD do to explain and correct the players thought processes to make the right decisions and are we supposed to be happy and chuffed if we 'performed' in all our league games, dont win and get relegated?????
