Well i'd prefer my 2 slices of toast and if you believe that you must be looking forward to santa coming soon I'd swap Cornish for Sausage Roll and Cheese and Onion though And I'd make sure the cob is one of the chewy variety
Who? Birds, Greggs or local shop? Do you know that the thick crust on Cornish pasties (very thick crusts on pasties in Cornwall) was for the Cornish miners to hold their dinner without dirtying the main part of the pasty? And also half of a pasty was sweet and the other half savoury so the miner had a proper dinner in one go I've actually had one of those, on one of my many visits to Cornwall Pretty amazing eh? Hope you were sat down #truestory
Local bakers Adrian Edmondson does a TV show where he looks at local traditions all over the country. I've only seen it once and it was in Cornwall, they obviously talked about the pasty on it and mention the workers then. Their pasties are much better (by which, I mean bigger) than ours too! You will do well to put me off my food, there is only one thing that has any effect but I'll still eat regardless. Not intentionally and nor is it my fault but quite often at work, toilet type conversations seem to crop up as we're eating
Anything could go in a pasty really couldnt it? Eating a good pasty has to be one of my favourite past times OT Thread - What pasty flavour would you like to see? I cant im busy A lad I used to work with used to buy sausage rolls butter 4 slices of bread and put loads of tom ketchup on adn them as sandwiches! At 10.30 in a morn! Then have a light lunch When I started working with him he was pretty thin but by the time he lfet he was a right fat ****
That sounds pretty awful TBH. But then, I thought having waffle sandwiches was strange until it dawned on me that its effectively a chip sandwich. PS...not sure you'd want me suggesting pasty fillings. I'm the one that wasn't happy with the cheeseburger pizza and suggested the crusts around each burger should have a sausage in them
at the pizza, im still jealous I do want one of them Waffle sandwiches are fantastic! Cheese on them is a must though Pasties in Cornwall are brilliant, I always bring 10 back from any visit I have there and then reheat them up here. The crusts are better, as you say bigger as well Ive noticed now days there's not as much meat in them, they fill them up more with potato. Sign of the times I guess though I am also a fan of crisps, was once that stoned at my mates (he passed out) and I was hungry and he mumble help yourself to whatever and there was a 24 mutli pack of crisps, I thought i'll have 3 at the most. I ate all 24 literally. my salt levels must've gone throught the roof
My local baker has recently brought out a roast chicken dinner pasty. It ****ing tastes just like one
Right, couple of things here. Firstly, I meant chips on two slices of bread, that is a sandwich! However, if you are going to put it on one of these... [NSFW] please log in to view this image [/NSFW] ...then it is a chip cob However, I do hear some folks call it a chip butty in these parts too. They're are wrong people, but they do!
