Hang on are you jacks / Norwich fans saying your as good as Chelsea, Spurs, Man City. Has Swamp has reasonable said we are going to be playing against weaker teams in the next 3 game. How can you disagree with that assessment

He actually uses the words weak opposition in the op there's no comparison made to Chelsea, Spurs or Man City at all. If those three teams mentioned are weak opposition then 9 points and plenty of goals should be no problem then. Somehow I seriously doubt you'll get 9 points

There is no way Villa, Swansea and Norwich are considered weak in comparison to Cardiff. Villa, Swansea and Norwich are expected to beat teams like Cardiff. Anything less than 3pts for those teams is considered a shock result.

Cardiff are finding themselves scrapping in seventeenth position in the league despite riding their luck so far this season, so when that luck finally runs out (no matter what anybody says about the Chelsea game your keeper should have seen red, Cardiff still got some luck in that 4-1 defeat but this will not last until the Christmas period) then Cardiff are in real trouble.

You guys have said it yourselves on this forum, Cardiff resort to putting 11 men behind the ball but you are still on the edge of the relegation zone. That must be worrying and means Cardiff should hope for maybe one point out of the next three games as that would mean the luck is still flowing in. Take advantage of it while it you can.

Still 2 weeks to go and Swamp is already reeling them in faster than he can handle.

Think that is a little unfair on Cardiff Project - they have competed well in most games so far and to say they resort to 11 behind the ball is not a fair assessment! The scoreline against Chelski was not absolutely representative of the game - Cardiff were holding their own until that controversial goal! Have been impressed with them thus far and, banter aside, think there are at least 3 teams worse than them in the EPL!

Don't think they will finish above us (see - can still do the banter thing ;) ) but don't think they will be relegated! And petty rivalries aside, will be quite happy to have them as part of the EPL 'family' next season - loves the South Wales derby I does!!!!!!!! ;)

You always do this Swans-cartoonhead, give a reasonable balanced view, you know as well as i do that Cardiff only play hoofball and pack there defence and hope to get a goal from a lucky bounce.

Swamp had put what was a wum with an honest assessment that next 3 games are against weaker teams than we played on the weekend.

Swampy is on the right track.

In terms of the league Norwich, Swansea, and Villa do not have anything that should scare us.

Yes, we are a weak team, but so are the three we will play in comparison to the top teams in this league.

I think 4-6 points from those three games is required and really should be had.

EDIT: Wow Dai, those numbers show that Swansea are really not that good at all. Very average performances over a long period of time! Surprised me that did. Just 7 wins in 26 Prem matches!

Yes, but fair play, they didn't have that Bony guy for all of them.............<laugh>

Getting carried away with the "Bony" factor seems the order of the day with some of the lot down there. Very quick to point out he's got 7 goals this season, but just having a look at that - only two of them in the Prem and one was a penalty. He did get one against Birmingham mind - oops, shouldn't have mentioned that.......<laugh>

If you're making comparisons, Mutch has only just got in our side and scored two from open play and he cost us nothing on a free - I know who I'd rather have in our squad. Plenty of time yet, but that alleged £12M for old Bonyo based on his Eredivise scoring record could be costly.

Fingers will probably be pointed at our expensive (£7M?) new front man Corny, but the guy hasn't kicked a ball in this league yet, so the jury is well and truly out.

Having said that, anyone want Brayford for a couple of quid?.........<laugh>

First season Swansea conceded 4 in their first away to a big club and didn't win away from home until sometime around January.

There are only 2 teams in this league who look absolutely out of their depth and Swansea's total includes 6 points from them this season.

The posters on this board accept we've got a real challenge on our hands this season whereas the vast majority of our visitors (maybe should be squaters) seem to think they support one of the PL's really big/quality sides.

Dai's stats since Jan show that's really not the case and as I've just said you've got wins against Palace and Sunderlund in those too.

Thats a nightmare to someone who reads a book only to look at the pictures (thats cute of you btw). But those who read the whole book would realise of those 26 games, 13 were against teams that finished above us last season (there was only 8 if you can't count :))

Of those 13, 6 were home, Man Utd, Arsenal, Spurs, Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal. <--- so realistically they are all down as 0 pointers, bar Liverpool, who you would think maybe a point. Total points = 2/1
The other 7 away , against the top few clubs, realistically marked down as 0 pointers, except west brom for a point. Total points = 4/2

Then we have the remaining 13 games.
    Expected Wins: Villa (h), Stoke (h), QPR (h), Newcastle (h), Southampton (h), Fulham (h), Sunderland (h), Palace (a) = Total points = 17/24
    Expected Draws: Sunderland (a), West Ham (a), Norwich (a), Wigan (a), Southampton (a) = Total points = 5/6

So of those 26 games, before hand we would have been happy with 33 points, so in that sense, 28 isn't as bad as you might think, seeing as we were already safe (albeit not mathematically, but in every other aspect, we were not going down - you won't have that luxury this season :)

But then it wouldn't be as much of a wum if you looked at it that way :)

You can't blame any of us for not caring to that level of detail that's reserved for the way you lot obsess about us.

Being serious it shows exactly what we've been saying about our fixtures. You can only be as good in this league as the fixtures let you. Ours are pretty solid up till xmas, then the points we hope will keep us up should be available in the home games that follow, but obviously aren't assured.

I hadn't seen your poor form explained in that way and it does offer an alternative slant which you are correct to point out. It also shows your excellent start to last season was down to a more favourable fixture list for that period. Swings and roundabouts.

Nice one swanselona! Taxi for Dai Jones! <applause>

Our lot are quick to criticise players who don't put in a shift or who underperform. Jeez, they've been slating De Guzman all week over there and he's made the Beeb's Team of The Week! <doh>

But you rarely see criticism of Bony. Why? Because our fans know he works hard and his assists have been crucial this season. Yes, his job is to put the ball in the back of the net and he has done so, though mainly in Europe. Whether you lot like it or not any player who scores 34 in 36 games in the Eredivisie ain't a slouch. But you know that.

The likes of Sparkey and co just get off on the idea we've bought a duffer. I don't believe we have though time will tell, and like Swamp I really hope he starts against you. I suspect he will, and hopefully some of these ridiculous comments will come back to haunt you.

On topic, the Swans are an established mid-table side. We've proved that because we haven't been involved in a scrap in two seasons. We were a full 10 points away from relegation last time though I do accept the margins are fine. But to class us as a 'weak team' is absolute crap, and what's quite funny is that Swamp isn't 'fishing' - he's deadly serious. <laugh>

No, we're nowhere near the big guns in this League but 'weak'? Do me a favour. If you don't know already there are very few truly weak teams in the Prem. From what I've seen so far I can think of only three. Palace, Sunderland and Cardiff. As I've said before I'll be gutted if we don't get all three points - this is a game we should be winning. Having said that I do acknowledge the lottery of derby day.

    stevoldinho- NAIL ON THE HEAD<ok>

makes me laugh all these jacks- they finally get above us, albeit 2 points and this is how they react- the classic was at the start when they were all predicting top 6 finish<rofl>

Glad it makes you laugh. <doh>

We 'react' not because we're ahead of you - though that's the subject of Sparkey's thread which invites such comments - but because the OP refers directly to a number of teams, including ours, as 'weak' - either in jest, or (as seems likely from his comments) seriously. That's led to some decent debate, actually. But maybe you don't you get that? Have someone explain it to you if you're having trouble. <ok>

Look, I'll help you. Repeat this:

Mention the Swans = Invites comments
Mention the Swans = Invites comments
Mention the Swans = Invites comments
Mention the Swans = Invites comments
Mention the Swans = Invites comments

Hope you've got it now :)

    knackered

no explanation needed- i agree with the op- you, canaries, villa are some of the weaker teams in the league- along with us- so its the teams like you that we should realistically be looking at getting points off- have someone to explain it to you if you are having trouble<ok>
