We've now lost 3 in a row against them, 0-2 VS Shalke, 1-3 VS Munich, and now 1-2. The former 2 were obviously much worse as the performances against Shalke and Munich were dog sh!t, but still, our recent record against German teams at the Emirates ain't looking good.
We have a good record away though. Tbh the Schalke one was a disaster, Bayern well I expected a loss (best scenario a draw) and this one could have gone either way.
With Bayern, I think we could've gotten a draw against them if Giroud started, was surprised he didn't start, and when it was when he came on, that we started looking threatening to Munich, even scoring against them, and as we all know, Giroud scored against them away from home, so he was menace to them. I think we badly handicapped ourselves by playing Walcott up front, I mean let's face it, Walcott VS big strong machine like Munich defenders?
It was a risk that didn't pay off sadly. A draw could have been doable but we got caught looking for it. That being said hopefully we can translate our excellent form away vs ze Germans when we play Dortmund. I don't think we'll lose but if we want a win we'll need pace (Theo you mug get fit)
That explains my confusion.I heard the first 10 minutes of the game on the radio in my car and the commentator said Walcott had scored
As pointed out, our record against the Germans at home is ****, but away from home we have done better. Drawn 2 and won 1 in recent times, and we did it by playing on the break.
Funny we played Schalke home last season and crashed to a 2-0 defeat. We played better against a much better side yesterday and still lost. We're improving so that's all we can ask for.
