I fail to see how when someone has a differing point of view and telling them to grow up is not immature, you have put your valid point of view accross and I did not tell you to grow up!! All other managers linked with the position who are at clubs have ruled themselves out of the job, so why can't Mick? I'm sure he's continuing to be professional but even so he's done nothing to quell the rumours and this must be having a detrimental effect on the club one way or another.
OK don't cry about it! Mick has made no secret of the fact that he would like to manage at international level again at some point in the future. We all knew that when he took the job! Mick has not been approached by ROI nor has he applied for the job or seeked permission to talk to them so in my book he has done nothing wrong. I know you have a hidden agenda against Mick but don't use this as a petty stick to beat him with. He doesn't deserve this and if I was him I would be bloody annoyed by some of the hysterical comments made by some Town fans!
I'm not crying about it, I'm just wound up that you're such a TIT sometimes I have no hidden agenda, I want Mick to stay, I really do, I think anyone who thinks him leaving is a good thing needs a bit of a reality check. We all know he'd want the Ireland job I just think in these circumstances he should turn it down, IMO it would be the right thing to do. I'm not saying he's committed blasphemy, I just think he's wrong to not quell the speculation. I'm sure Mick doesn't give a hoot about what I think about that situation nor think it's a big deal, I'm sure he's had far worse things said to him and I'm sure you've said far worse things about people than that. Talk about hysteria, again pot kettle black
i think it's very frustrating for fans when a manager fails to quash rumours of an imminent departure but you have to view things from his point of view. he obviously would like the ireland job again - maybe he feels he has unfinished business, who knows - but he is a very professional man and if he doesn't get offered the job he will continue to do his best for ipswich and no doubt will do in the meantime, although i take on board this can be disruptive for players and fans especially. if he does get offered it then i'm sure he'll go. its similar in many ways to when lambert was at norwich and every time a job came up he'd never rule himself out. incredibly annoying - you'd just want him to come out like hughton has and say 'i'm flattered but i've got a job to do here', but at the time we weren't aware just how desperate he was to move on after a falling out behind the scenes. maybe that's why mccarthy wants to leave! doubtful in my opinion - its never been a secret of his desire to manage his country again (and it is his country - it doesn't matter where he was born - he represents ireland with pride). you just have to hope he doesn't get offered it (or hope he does, in some fans cases!)
All the planets seem to have come into perfect alignment for the conspiracy theorists! Middlesborough Sack Mowbray and then approach Martin O'Niel who was favourite for the ROI job but would prefer to stay in club management. This means that the ROI are now going after Mick McCarthy meaning that the vacancy he leaves at Ipswich will result in Mowbray becoming the next Ipswich Manager. Genius!
Article now running in the EADT that the Irish FA, are poised to approach Ipswich, in wanting to speak to Mick Mccarthy, regarding the vacant managers job at the Republic Of Ireland
Another young up and coming. Had a bit of a tough time at Brizzle. Another name to throw in the mix should the worst happen?
