This forum really has gone downhill massively in the last couple of months. No wonder it's so quiet around here.

Watching Fergie and David Gill sit in the stands at OT on Saturday looking on as Man Utd dropped more points made me think about what might have happened if those who wanted Wenger and Gazidis out in the summer had got their way. Can anybody who wanted that really be confident that we would have been doing better at the moment without them ?

    Absolutely not.

But then who would have imagined Wenger was going to spend £42.3 Million on one player? .. even the most ardent Wenger supporters would'nt have predicted that.

For me the test was to see if Wenger could still compete when given a decent budget. So far he's proving that he's more than capable of building title winning teams again. Both his Summer acquisitions have been top class.

Some people can't read/understand english - the question was addressed to the "wenger out brigade". How can you belong to this group and still say "never wanted him to be sacked in the first place"?

Are these people who wanted Wenger to go out by his own accord or go at the end of the season without being sacked? It seems bizarre.

But in all fairness, he has had to endure some fairly torrid abuse for his support of the manager and the club over the last few years, ironically on an Arsenal fan forum. Given the context of that abuse, his seems to be a fairly mild statement.

Take this back a year or two and remembering the language being used in the other direction, with words like, "Obvious", "Deluded" and "Morons" being used as well as the obligatory expletives, and I am not sure this deserves any rebuke whatsoever.

I call Bullshit on Kyle <ok>

We were playing the better football and looked good for a winner, Santi almost provided it. The goal was Gibbs fault as he didn't track the run of the wide man who put the ball in for Lewandowski. It wasn't a tactical error from Wenger, but typically you want to try and dress it up as that. ****e comment from you really.

We needed to start a winger, so use Gnabry. Schmelzer is a really ****e defender, so having a winger running at him would cause problems. Ozil on the right was bad, he needed to be in the middle, and i would have started Santi on the left, because Groskreutz isn't a defender. I would have attacked their fullbacks, rather than try and play through them, Bender and Sahin sitting deep gave good protection to their CB's, if we'd attacked their FB's, then the CM cover would have been negated somewhat.

At least i did my homework, Wenger clearly didn't. We can't play the same style against every side, it's why we regularly lose to the big teams. They see our style, and set up to counter it, much like Dortmund did.

Look, at least i'm giving good reasons instead of just saying "oh, he messed up."

Anyone worth their salt knows that if you're facing dodgy FB's, you attack them.

Fair point, but we came close to winning the game. If Santi's shot was two inches lower we'd have gone 2-1 up and probably have won the game, so Wenger's tactics were pretty good. We got hit on the counter and that can always happen against the top sides.

Think Dortmund look vulnerable defensively. Would love to get them in the knockout phase, think we would start as underdogs but with the right tactics they are very beatable.

You need a gameplan to take out top sides. And a plan b and plan c.

    Does wenger have these?
