Don't think Palace will sack him personally. However if they did, he should be at the top of our list of potential SOD replacements. He has a very good record as a manager and Gas or not, SOD is not in the same league as him as far as achievement goes.

I really don't get why fans wouldn't want Warnock or Holloway at the helm, because of their pasts, and who they played for, and supported and the banter they've had. You can't take away they are bloody brilliant managers and reality is we aren't really a good enough club to attract them given our league position but there's something about them that I feel they would be up for the challenge.

BCFC now is not a job many managers would want. Last year we were fighting to stay in the Championship and we always knew if we stayed up we had a healthy Championship budget and if they went down the new manager would have time and a clean slate and despite FFP a very workable budget for the division. We are now a completely different proposition. We have no money, we are bottom of the league and bar a couple of Journeymen who add morale to the club, our squad is very young and inexperienced and making too many mistakes. BCFC is not very attractive to many managers because they know it will be a relegation scrap and if we go down to League 2, the manager would likely get sacked and our team would lose all of our better players and those with promise will go back to League One or Championship clubs for a fraction of what they are worth and we will have even less money and we would be reliant on youth players to get us out of one of the toughest leagues around. Even if we stay up there really isn't the finance for any manager to bring in his own players next season unless it were to be loans and I fear next year Reid, JET, Williams and Kelly who are all too good for this league will be sold anyway.

The only way to keep them is by having an influential manager who the players believe they can achieve success with and I'm starting to fear the players doubt SOD's ability. There is no way the likes of Wagstaff, JET or Baldock would still be here or have joined had they not thought we would have been battling for promotion this season.

The time to act is now. Another heavy defeat tonight and SOD has to go. But really we have to bring in an influential manager who might just relish the challenge. I don't for one minute think Di Canio is right as a few more losses and he would resign but Warnock or Holloway in my book would be fantastic appointments and with their contacts could easily bring in some quality youngsters on loan in January to help our cause.

We need a manager who will attract attention to the club for the right seasons with plenty of experience and also someone with the contacts to gain trust of big managers who they have an association with to bring in players. How we haven't managed to bring in any Man Utd youngster's given the clubs history with Moyes is staggering, but are we actually trying ?

Tinnion is mates with Moyes , but I feel we are only looking for players who could be signed permanently and therefore we are missing out on some quality youngster's who could do a good short term job.

A decision that is right for the club has to be made soon, 2 or 3 more losses and we'll be detached at the bottom and appeal to no managers.

I actually think Paul Sturrock could do a very good job, he managed Plymouth very well for a number of years on a low budget and always had them competing at a far better level than they are now. He also worked wonders at Southend and it was beggars belief why he was ever sacked. He is only 57 and has always worked well on a low budget and has good links with Southampton and is good friends with Mourinho which is handy ! He also was a very well respected Youth Coach before he went into management. He could be the right sort of man for the job and would not be expensive.

Good points RR and it's becoming a sadder situation by the day and my heart is breaking seeing us struggle this way and I can't even hear the rustlings of change coming down our street in BS3. So sad!

The good thing about Holloway is that he is Bristol through and through- I think the he will go from Palace if they don't improve fairly soon, but cant see him swapping the premier league for a fight to keep out of going into League 2. I think he will go onto bigger things personally.
I wouldn't mind him with us personally, but he is a bit too much like marmite and settling in might prove a problem.

Another heavy defeat? How many games have we lost by more than 1 goal?

If we have Holloway as our manager i'll be glad that im moving to Canada and never have to watch him. The proper Bristol city fans would never want him managing our club. Im going to break his career down for you and to me, Is good enough reason not to hire him

    Bristol Rovers Player.

    Bristol Rovers manager - Failed

    QPR Manager - Failed

    Plymouth Manager - Failed

    Leicester city Manger - Failed

Blackpool Manager - 2 good seasons and to some extent a fluke

Crystal Palace Manager - Took over a job practically done, Almost messed it up and now Failing miserably

"The only good red is a dead one" - If you support Bristol City Holloway has said you are better off DEAD. Ceasing to live, The most precious gift we have is being alive, This man would rather you were dead. 6ft under the ground. no longer living. For that, I never want him in our managers position, If you are happy to clap this clown then I feel sorry for you

What's funny is that SOD has good experience in the Championship, has good links to the Arsenal academy, and has brought us a number of highly-rated players that wanted to work with our manager. All this talk of other managers with good links is ultimately pointless, because it won't improve our situation.

There simply isn't a better manager out there. We can sack SOD and put another person in charge, but if he gets us out of our situation it won't be down to their ability, but down to dumb luck.

For the record, you have to be ****ing kidding if you think that Holloway, a two-time Premier League manager will want to drop down to a team at the bottom of League 1, with absolutely no money to spend, and a track record of sacking a manager every year.

If we're looking to hire a new manager I say we hire a big name with no managerial experience that wants to cut their teeth at this level. If it were up to me, I'd get in contact with Paul Scholes and would ask if he'd consider taking the managers job if SOD were to leave. It'd be a big name move for the club, it'd attract more fans, and his links to the Man Utd academy would without a shadow of a doubt help bring some top talent to the club. There's also the chance that he might become a fantastic manager in the future.

The problem is too often we have had the nicey nice manager in SOD, McInnes, Millen, Johnson and even though I like Clough as a manager he is probably the same type of manager again and nothing like his father.

Its a dying bread to have a manager who isnt scared to tell his players what he thinks and will drop them all if they arent listening and maybe managers like Warnock and Holloway are some of the last who are like that. Personally i cant see either wanting to drop down to league one and maybe city fans could eventually accept holloway as manager if he won games i think he would lose his rovers legend card if he managed us.

I think tonight is the night most city fans who are still standing by SOD are giving him and with results, the weather and the ill feeling and cant imagine the gate will be high and its the income which is the only thing the board will listen to as currently SOD has done what they want and thats to reduce the out goings which hes done

Someone I mentioned who has those qualities, and would be respected for what he has done as a player in the game both playing and management is Mr Sounness currently linked with Middlesborough. Not sure he is the right choice now, but when GJ left, I believed he could take us to regular playoff contenders in the Championship.

I don't know I go away to the states for two weeks and things have not perked up YET! So my theory about me being a jinx has been shot down in flames. Holloway? Correct me if I'm wrong but all his team's have major defensive frailties just the right thing for us down the gate? I'm sticking with my rose tinted specs.
