That's nonsense, yes anyone can have a good game but if you consistantly have good, great or even amazing games it means you can play.
As pointed out, nothing new. He was going to have a dig regardless, I would look at it as he had so much fury at Rafa because he was the only coach who had a team that could challenge him ( only 1 year in the league but it must have got under him when we were bossing Europe!!!).
I think most of it was expected but to claim that Gerrard wasn't a "top top player" (for the Man Utd snipers, there is no mention of world class ) is somewhat laughable and stinks of bitterness that he missed out on signing Gerrard. Stevie could well have been the difference when it came to Europe, plus he didn't just miss out (as he claims) in 2005, he also tried to sign Gerrard as a youngster too.
The Gerrard he talked about was the yougn Gerrard who along with Lampard around that time were leading their teams to CL semi finals pretty much year in and year out and I think both of them at one point were 3rd in voting in the UEFA or World Player award? ( Don't quote me). Not gonna get into the back and forth as Scholes was quality and Keane provided that midfield with Steel, leadership, and identity. But ya, a bit bitter with Gerrard.
please log in to view this image Manchester United tweet a picture of the new 'singing section' at Old Trafford ahead of the Champions League game with Real Sociedad on Wednesday. According to United's website, up to 1,400 of the most vocal United supporters will be in the South East quadrant where the away fans usually sit. The fan initiative has been led by supporters' groups Reclaim United and Stretford End Flags as well as Reds fan Pete Boyle, and it has received the backing of fanzines Red News and United We Stand. The theater of nightmares now the anti-christ has retired.
How do they determine who goes in that section? Is it self-claiming individuals claiming they can sing karaoke? What happens if someone is not being vocal in that section? Do they get banished?
Some **** with his back to the pitch with a megaphone....."number 1,2001 sing up or **** off back to the Stretford End"
He'll have a baton in one hand pointing at the bouncing ball on the singalong screen and conducting the singers with the other.
Fergie comes across as a cranky old man with a few screws loose. I expect to see him standing at the edge of a road throwing pine cones at random cars soon. He's obviously one of the most successful managers the world has seen in recent generations... but that doesn't mean he doesn't have a screw loose. Either that... or he's playing mind games.
