Not saying that he was completely useless - but he should never have been bigged up the way he has. He's not world class. His ability to cross the ball from a standing position is world class. But that is all he is.

The only reason he has played for the biggest clubs in the world is purely because he generates so much revenue. There is no other reason.

Barca tried to sign Beckham - they failed and had to 'settle' for Ronaldinho. The difference in ability, class and impact is plain for everyone to see.

    Fergie on himself:

    "I'm a complete ****. Anyone who doesn't think I'm a ****ing **** is a stupid ****. Anyone that thinks I'm a **** is a ****ing **** for thinking I'm a ****. Anyone who doesn't know me is a **** for not knowing me. Basically, the whole world is one massive ****".

This is what I posted on the manc board.

  3. Or, made the most of what he had! Beckham was superb on his day and, although not in the same bracket as the players you mention, he was a worker with a sublime ability to put a ball on a 50p coin. Like him or not, he was a perfect team player was a superb attitude and knew how to cross a ball (open play, freecick or corner), something we would all love to see in our team ATM!

That's my main gripe - he's been touted as a 'legend of the game'. He is far from it.

    Well I don't like it!

And the English media are the biggest fools on the planet, and a reason why we continue to raise a generation of incompetent footballers as we hype up the wrong players.

He's a tart. He's only trying to make money nothing more and nothing less. I don't care what he has said as it's all in the past and if he's still so bitter that the he to regurgitate comments that he knows will be odiously contentious then he's the one with the problem.

Will anything he's said do his reputation any good? Will the majority of football fans worldwide believe him? If not then there's no real point in writing.saying it apart from a tarts wages!!!

I think he's minted enough already without this book!

    It'll be reduced soon enough

I pick up a lot of good books/stuff from charity shops <ok>

This book will probably be in Help the Aged first anyway <whistle>

Bet us winning the Champs League really was football that destroyed....destroyed Fungus's heart :D Can't imagine why he hated Rafa so much <whistle>

He was desperate to overtake our European haul but after all those years he failed. Considering how many attempts he had at it his European record is pretty ****.

    I rest my case.

    Fergie lost control to Posh<laugh>

Beckham is a bigger name globally than Fergie, that must kill Fergie

His comments on Gerrard are accurate.

hes no world class superstar but he was capable of winning games single handedly. 99% of that was because the other 10 players were useless, 1% of it was ability. <ok>

Loads of players can win games on their own, not all are world class. Some are barely even footballers ( Samaras ).

Top top players probably includes the Ronaldos, Messi's, Henry's of the world.

    Hmmm,
Carrick's "quiet personality". As opposed to the larger than life, laugh-a-minute, life and soul of the party that is Steven Gerrard, obviously.

    And
    .
I imagine only the most blinkered of Utd fans would concur with this.
It's amazing that he's done so well as on the basis of these comments you'd think he knows **** all about anything.

Seriously, Fergie's record speaks for itself- he'd be wise to leave it at that and keep his gob shut.

Last time I checked gerrard and carrick had won the same at international level.

And Owen became a league champion at United. League champions are naturally better of course <ok>

I'd argue if I thought you were serious.
Do we have to keep reminding you that Djimi Traore is a CL winner?
