Skylarker, I hear what you're saying. However, I doubt that your new owners have a bottomless pit of cash, and they are going to have spend wisely. It seems to me that Kenny is spending a lot of money on unknown quantities (Carroll included), with every chance they'll flop, losing you money as well as points. Aren't you worried that Kenny could bankrupt the club?
Yeah true, but Beardsley did come across very unbiased. Kenny's past shows how good he is at man management etc. Comolli would of been involved in all these deals to a certain extent, the team at Liverpool would of had meetings and decided (with Kenny having the main say) that these transfers are good for the future of the club.
Capello hardly picks any of them though, Lidls. He's still clinging onto the so-called Golden Generation. Merked.
Kenny bankrupting the club is extremely unlikely. He has the full trust of everyone involved at Liverpool (including all fans) and we believe that he is fully capable of making important decisions or even gambles. At the end of the day we need to take a gamble to get back to where we belong. Not being in the champions league automatically counts many players out from signing, so paying over the odds for young promising English players may be one of our only options. Trust me Kenny is a very astute businessman and knows football as much as anyone in the game. This on top of knowing Liverpool inside out and having the financial backing of the owners imho is surely a recipe to success. Plus i'm loving the idea of having a load of young English players around (our youth setup is one of the best around at present and has a good few diamonds waiting to break through) hopefully in the future offering a good connection for the senior England international team to thrive off. I see where everyone (from other teams) is coming from but i have faith in Kenny, Steve and Sammy et al and can see the club finally turning a corner that has been desperately needed for a good few years now. Well, it's certainly going to be an interesting season, what with MercCity in the CL and bound to spend millions, Arsenal sure to lose at least a couple of their stars, Chelsea & United sure to invest in at least on big-name star, and Spurs and 'Pool looking to strengthen in order to mount a creditable campaign for a top 4 place. Lots of questions are going to be answered, that's for sure.
The use of the word is Frankie Boyle humour imo, I've heard him refer to describing himself in a hot country as 'sweating like a r....t'. Alternative humour, you either like it or you don't.
I like Frankie Boyle a lot, but it's very hard to get that sort of humour right at all, never mind in the written word.
Nobody thought Mel Gibson could play a Scot but look at him now! Alcoholic and a racist! The East End of Glasgow is like the Olympics. Lots of foriegners in tracksuits struggling to speak English. Congratulations on passing your test! Your HIV positive. Venus Williams has brought something different to the women’s game – male genitalia. My Girlfriend and I often roleplay in the bedroom. She pretends she is Catwoman and I pretend that I love her. When I heard Cristiano Ronaldo was pictured holding a manbag, I was surprised it was a gucci bag and not another guy’s sack.
Wah Wah Wah. Liverpool finally spending money on players, and fans of other clubs don't like it.However we've still a fair bit to go to reach parity with Spurs.Another £115 million to be precise. We're currently £25 million in the black, add that to the £90 million Spurs are in the red in terms of net spend. If you waste your money on rubbish like Niko Krancjar and David Bentley and Alan Hutton,no wonder you only finished 4 points above us when we had our worst season for 50 years and were managed for half of it by a ''yes man'' that was clearly out of his depth.
Why do clueless Liverpool fans always come out with this crap? They're as bad as the Goons. Your wage bill has dwarfed ours for decades, to the tune of about £43m a year at the last count, you Scouse dimwit. You spent big and still dropped behind us. Frankie Boyle's most incendiary joke has to be the Princess Diana one. Do not watch if you're easily offended: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkJqbO0zHss
You're right there PNP, voice inflection and facial expression do soften the sentence, impossible on here. Probably best not to try. I think alot of intended humour can lead to misinterpretation, not by me...suffered it myself! intended humour that is. I liked Frankie on Mock the Week, shame he quit. As for Tramadol Nights...jeez! dunno how he got away with some of that!
Waste money on Krancjar etc. From the buyers of Robbie Keane! ...not to mention Aquilani ...shall I keep going?
I totally missed that jibe at Kranjcar. £2m on Kranjcar or £16m on Aquilani? Hmm.... Don't blame Hodgson, either. He was left a duff squad, assassinated from behind the scenes by your current messiah and had to deal with players like Torres and Babel strolling about and desperately trying to leave. Dalglish had the immediate advantage of getting rid of those two, having a fully adjusted Mereiles, the signing of Suarez and Gerrard being out injured, so he didn't unbalance your side. Add to that the fact that he didn't have a dodgy Scotsman trying to nick his job and it's easy to see where he went wrong!
Joe Cole's going nowhere, as you've agreed to pay him £90k pw for the next 3 seasons! Yep, that's a 'free' transfer that'll cost you £18,720,000, if he sees out his contract.
