    AJ SET TO RETURN

Johnson set for EDS run-out this afternoon ...

R'S FRONT-MAN Andrew Johnson is set to return to action this afternoon, as the Elite Development Squad lock horns with Brentford at Loftus Road.

Johnson, who has been sidelined with a knee injury in recent weeks, returned to training last week and is now in line to gain some crucial match minutes when the Bees make the short journey across West London to W12.

Javier Chevanton and Matty Phillips are expected to complete the over-age quota for Marc Bircham's side, as the build-up to Saturday's top-of-the-table clash versus Burnley in the Sky Bet Championship gathers pace.

Entry to Loftus Road is FREE (via the South Africa Road stand) and boss Bircham is hoping for a good turn-out.

"It would be great to see a good crowd," he told www.qpr.co.uk.

"The games at Loftus Road have been well-attended in the past and the lads have generally put on a good display."

Rangers currently occupy fourth spot in the U-21 Professional Development League Two, with three wins from their opening five games to date.

The Bees, meanwhile, sit one place below in fifth, with seven points from four matches.

The match kicks off at 1.00pm at Loftus Road.

However, if you can’t make it along to W12 then we will be streaming the match live for FREE via our official Ustream channel – www.ustream.tv/officialQPR

Coverage will start from 12:55pm with our commentary team of Tony Incenzo and Andy Watkins.

Very good news indeed. Unless my maths fails me, that means we might have THREE strikers for out match against Burnley. From famine to feast at QPR. Well, maybe a good meal rather than a feast!

Hope our goalscoring for the game also reflects feast over famine.

I like AJ .... good player on his day and think that Austin and him could do very well if they play together

Strongly agree. He is like a terrier, always nipping at the heels of defenders and quite strong for his size too.

He's always been good for us. It's purely the injuries that stop him.

He must be a huge irritant to play against, shame he breaks down all the time. Brentford's kids won't know what's hit them with two bald Oompa Loompa pensioners running at them.

This is brilliant news, hope he comes through unscathed

Having the option of pairing him up front with Austin at home will only help the team

Until he gets into the area and goes down quicker than a £5 ho!

I give him three games before he's out for a month plus.

How many times in the last five years has he played 10 games in a row? I'm not even sure when the last he played five games in a row.

AJ and Chevanton up front, we should score a lot.

??????? FFS make up your mind DT, three weeks ago you were dropping Austin and playing the bald dwarf with Chevanton? Nothing like being consistently inconsistent.

Don't get too excited. AJ is a sicknote and can't be relied on.

I'm afraid you're right Kerry. He could be as good as Shearer in his hay day but when he's constantly crocked, he's not worth a sh*t.

Relied on no, but a very useful player when he's available. I'd be tempted to leave him on the bench until the last 30 mins against Burnley, then let him harry their tired defenders.
