Hooray I have caught up on this thread Am not a fan of musical's generally but The Lion King was an excellent show for young and old. Was a bit worried when I saw all the kids but we paid enough for the tickets to sit with the older kids of our age I don't think I mentioned the Joe Bonammassa gig we went to a few weeks back - rockin'. Superb sound system that band has, it was very loud but crystal clear.
Scullion, I took youngest to see The Lion King in the West End a few years ago and he enjoyed it. It was an evening performance and by the time we got to Euston, we were both tired so just caught the first train back to Watford. Unfortunately, it was the slow one. He got a good sleep on the way back but it was a nightmare trying to wake him when we got to Watford Junction. I'm taking my niece to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in the West End next week as a belated birthday present.
Nice to be home and able to do things. Spent a week doing not very much in UK and even found frequent trips to sample various brews became less attractive as the time went by. Various bits of me seem to have forgotten what they are used to doing over here judging by the aches I have this evening. Having seen and read about the lino who was hit by a flare, I think he was lucky not to have been badly injured, I cannot believe that they are a good thing. Arrests have been made as people try to smuggle them into grounds, so guess they are against the law. Anyone like to defend the use of them?
I am against them at this moment in time because you cannot trust those who set them off not to mis-use them. If they were used responsibly then I dont see why not. They look great in Europe, so why not here.
Can'treally agree with you re. Europe BHD. They have problems in a lot of countries with them being misused. They do look spectacular on occasion but i think it's way too risky- you only need one idiot and it is a recipe for disaster.
Just to be accurate, it was a smoke bomb and not a flare. Whilst not defending the idiot that threw it at the Lino, a smoke bomb is not nearly as dangerous as a flare. I think smoke bombs in the crowd can add some atmosphere and away at Reading this season they certainly did - but they will never be allowed in this country with the H&S industry we have.

Yeah OFH, I have also seen it widely reported as a flare, but if it had been, that Lino would have been burned. Flares like those set-off by the Poles at Wembley are much more dangerous things than smoke bombs. But I suppose the can cause some breathing difficulties...but it's just more of the nanny state.
Very mild here and dry at the moment, but showers possible later. Grass still growing at an alarming rate.
Sæl öll. I am just returned ealier today and am tired. Cappuccino, coffee, tea donuts and fruit are on the bar. When I left things here were good and now there is snow in the town. I hope it will stay until nóvember to give problems to KróatÃa in the HM2014 play off match in ReykjavÃk.
