We could loan him to Norwich with a view to them buying him in January

I think he has a long way to go to being prem quality.

Good to see him starting though and getting a couple, hopefully he can now put a run of form together and we may all be asking ourselves whether we did actually ever need a striker in on loan (hopefully :))

No you can't - Premiership clubs have to name a 25 man squad and as he's over 21 they can't sign him toll January <ok>

First challenge for him is to show he is Championship quality, for a string of games.

I think he will play in the Prem, btw.................. for Leeds

I don't think the underlying premise is right, anyway. Although I have a jaundiced view of GFH's spin on funds for buying, so far I have not seen a lot of evidence they are keen sellers either.

This Norwich slant lost its humour angle a long long time ago

I'm with Josh and 2020. He 'ain't going anywhere. Despite two good goals on Sunday and a solid performance, he isn't even guaranteed to start the next game. Although I think it might be difficult for BMD to not start him. If he now builds a strike partnership with McCormack and we're in the hunt for a play off place at least by January, he might just earn himself a contract extension. At 6ft plenty, he automatically gives us a different option.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Huddersfield away this weekend will show whether or not we've really turned a corner and are now genuine promotion candidates, or whether it was a perennial false dawn and so near yet so far! Enjoy the ride boys and girls, its still got plenty of bumps on the way.

Yes, spot on. Will be extremely interesting to see how BM plays it. I don't know what he should do. Can he use this formation away from home, and if he does will the opposition allow us to have the same attacking momentum, or won't they be able to stop us? I'd like to see it tried, but most teams away will represent a different challenge to Brum at home. Would love to see it tried - and succeed - against Huddersfield.

btw, watching the highlights, the gosl Smith did not get - possibly the ref was right, it was very marginal, anyway - that "goal" was bloody good. I was a bit worried he was a one trick player, so seeing him net twice with a shot (the disallowed one a really good strike) is encouraging. I imagine they are working on his game and as he's brighter than most, might be paying off.

On the subject of him being brighter, sounded like a bright lad in the interview after. McD was praising him weeks back to do with his college education and intelligence. Clearly has a lot more brain cells than a certain Mr Hall

Watched the game in the pub, but haven't seen the highlights yet. So can't comment on the "goal". However, bottom line remains and having noted that even "the special one" can get some purchases wrong, in BMD I trust. So Sunday might still be a flash in the pan, but a Smith McCormack partnership and Sunday's team set up looks really promising.

Did anyone also note Murphy's impact on the game, as he spread passes around? I know there isn't a blade of grass at ER that doesn't now have Austin's DNA on it. But Murphy's contribution shouldn't be forgotten either.

Boggers, Smith was offside, it was close but it only takes a single replay to realise it was the right decision.

And I actually was still a little disappointed with Murphy, didn't think he did that well, losing possession in cases when he shouldn't have. Mowatt outshone him imo.

Great team performance, but worst two performers were Kenny (glued to his line as usual) and Murphy (caught in possession too many times)

Agree that Mowatt played well. Not entirely sure he outshon Murphy, but I'll have a look at the LUTV highlights later. Which ever way you look at it, just for once, we really were that good. As yourselves this qustion, did anyone seriously believe we'd have been 3 up by half time and costing? No, me neither.
