Ah, not sure I had heard that. Hopefully he makes the bench, as we do not have many options with Graham out.
DG has only limited time to prove himself now. If the goals don't come during December he is probably on his way back to sunlan in January. We could be shopping for two strikers in the window.
He's on a season long loan, we can't just send him back to Sunderland in January because we fancy it.
If there's a clause in the loan contract, I think we can. The FA rules state that "subject to any conditions imposed by the Board in the exercise of its discretion under Rule V.4.2, the minimum period of a Temporary Transfer shall be the period between 2 consecutive Transfer Windows and the period of a Temporary Transfer shall not extend beyond 30th June next after it was entered into;" So in effect, yes we could, it'd just be a bit of a slap in the face to Danny Graham. If he hasn't kicked on by that point, then I think SB will give this serious consideration.
The questions is, how likely is it that we have such a clause? Normally, when a club want a player off their books for a season, then they won't agree to such a clause, particularly if there's another club willing to take the player for a season without such a clause(though obviously I've no idea if anyone else was in for him). We'll have to wait until January to find out.
I wouldn't have thought so, no. Which is a bit of a bugger. I would've thought that if we hadn't come in for him, somebody like Watford or Middlesborough (his former clubs) would've gone for him on loan.
