I do like the image of neanderthals in furs poking the keyboard with a stick though. :)

Thing is I can't help but think of Hughs. <laugh>

If we go back to the origional point that you challenged me on it was my opinion that he wins us more than he loses us, your the one that started going all stato to nulify what i said but all your stats were not about my origional point, you came up with everything apart from the only stat that would support your viewpoint.

You wished to disagree with what i said so surely its you that need to RE enforce the FpU ter argument that him not tracking back is such a terrible thing that we Are poorer for it.

I dont Think we really Are and yet again i Will say his good points out weigh his bad points !

The pro run around brigade have yet to FpU ter this point of view though There has been plenty of deflection ;)

Interesting about JDG practicing after training, also interesting he was out with team members,by his lack of running around i would have thought no team mates e would like him much !...<laugh>

Stats can be Made to prove anything by the way.

Mark gower was the most creative midfielder in europe not so Long back !

Leon britton was better than xavi according to stats, know which one id prefer if given the choice. While stats offer some insight they cant be relied upon to paint the whole picture , the most important stats Are the ones which tell you how many points you Get at the end of the season most of the other stats Are formed to try and create a science about something that is individual skill and chance put together, is football a science ?

For me while they Are an interesting read sometimes they Are to be taken with a pinch of salt, they prove nothing of note most of the time as the data gathered doesnt account for external factors.

Everyone's entitled to their viewpoint on JDG, however there's only one view that interests me and that is of Michael Laudrup, surely if JDG is as sh!t as some say then ML wouldn't even entertain playing him, there must be some quality that he has for ML wanting him in the squad.

I'm not denying his quality, but I cannot accept that we should forgive his failings in defence, when I know he can do it. Its not down to errors, its down to lack of trying. Which for me is unforgivable.

JDG for me is a luxury, and only useful in games where our midfield is not needing to be a pressing, closing down force. In games like that I would rather see JDG on the bench.

De Guzman as important as Michu <laugh><laugh><laugh>

Rather than coming across as a patronising twerp Lone, read the comments of those of us who disagree with NJ and you will clearly see the valid reasons we have given <doh>

Never denied he is good going forward :D don't agree he is as good as some reckon, but hey, thats the joys of opinions :) but as a player who plays in the middle of the park, my opinion, is that he needs to sort his defensive role out, a role he had been doing just fine until his international call up last season, so he is able too. ;)

I have it on good authority that it's written in his contract that he doesn't have to track back or tackle. In fact, he gets fined if caught doing it.

I think that swansalona makes some very valid points with DE Guzman, he's definitely lazy minded when it comes to some of the support dirty work, and if you take away his ability at set pieces and dead ball, he's decidedly average, and I don't care if Laudrup does play him every game, what the hell does that prove? he's one of the managers favourites? Hell Rodgers played Sinclair when he was well off the boil and disappeared in games, so I cannot agree with our Lone Turnip on his view point, shame he couldn't be more agreeable when disagreeing!...................<cheers>

Some things never change on this board, and when is Norway going to give us something sensible too!.................<laugh>

Just kidding, keep your hair on NJ!.................

"if you take away his ability at set pieces and dead ball, he's decidedly average"

    <laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh>

That's like saying if you take away Vorm's ability to stop the opposition scoring goals he's "decidedly average". <doh> JDG's goal on Saturday wasn't even a dead ball for god's sake. I can understand some of the 'lazy' arguments here but this really takes the cake. It amazes me that whatever you think of JDG (and I really do understand some of the valid criticisms) in a week where gets MOM and makes the Beeb's team of the week he's getting slammed here.

Do people actually read what they've written before pressing 'Submit reply'? This board never ceases to entertain. Thanks DPJ. <laugh>
