Serious question guys, but could Hunt work in the set-up we had yesterday, him and ross in front of that daiamond? We were all moaning about Smith just being an impact player, but with this set-up he looked like he should be playing every match.
Morning All, What a day-picked up a victory and a clean sheet for my sunday league side, and then the mighty Leeds did the same. Hard to pick MOTM for me, they all played their part. Turned to my dad at HT in the pub simply shell-shocked. Couldnt remember the last time we were 3 nil at half time. Any one know? Simply awesome Sunday, could get used that feeling!
] hadn't noticed the epic fail mate was meant ot put goals. **** phone always crap when I use my phone browser
Doc, the first reason Smith was playing was to counter anything Zigic did at set plays. The fact that he scored two in some ways is a bonus. That said, he still can't really jump, although at 6ft plenty, why would he need to? He and Ross seemed to be a partnership made in heaven. Smith is a size and shape to scare the living sh^t out of most defenders. It won't work everytime with him and Ross. But given that we also have Varney and Poleon off the bench when needed, I can't see how Hunt will get a game in the foreseeable future. Ross will start every week he wants to. All BMD needs to do is decide who he pairs with him after taking into account the opposition. All in all, a very good day yesterday. But it won't count for anything if we don't now go and beat 'Uddersfield.
Boggers he was robbed of a good hat=trick because he was on side and he smashed it into the roof of the net. A well taken goal if it had stood. Credit where its due, he was great all game and was a massive foil for Ross and a massive target man for the team. First start but what a start
Fair point Doc. I'm just being unnecessarily cautious given that Sunday was so good and there is a chance of us getting carried away with ourselves. That said, a similar performance against Huddersfield and then against Yeovil, and suddenly the table takes on a whole different view.
It was no harm to show Burke yesterday what he could get himself into by joining us. I thought he looked very good in an awful team that was being hammered. He kept plugging away till the end
I was on a long drive to Scotland yesterday (just got back) and I relied on checking Twitter for the score when I stopped to refuel... Saw it said 3-0 at half time and assumed we were losing 3-0 I nearly fell over when I saw we were winning 3-0 and then again when I saw the final score was 4-0. I have recorded the game so will look forward to watching it tomorrow. Not sure if I am more shocked that we won, that we scored 4 goals or that Smith scored two...
You will be even more shocked when you see how well we played. Not to worry by Friday you will be a gloom and doom merchant again.
