I beg to differ Sparkey, as at the end of the season, the future cannot save you, only how you played in the past 38 games is what matters :)

I spewed mine up when I saw this. Stick with it. The whole thing starts grooving at about 1.40 <ok> Make sure you all learn the words ready for the next home game and you'll really be dancing to his tune if you're not already a convert. "We love you Tan Sriiiiiiiii" <laugh>

Regarding your on topic remark Aussie, I agree.

I also think we have little chance of regaining our previous higher relative position. We are just not good enough.

Very good knackered but 1 question. Do you spend all of your spare time looking for anything relating to Malaysia or the mighty bluebirds? I only ask because you are coming across as a very sad obsessive.

Oh come on. Where's your sense of humour? I actually nicked this off our board so someone else may be obsessive but not I.

Let's be honest, if our Chairman was as mad as a box of frogs you'd be having a field day too. Can't say you weren't warned. The latest revelations that he's now issuing orders from the stands is a tad worrying as well:

Control freakery of the worst kind.

Jesus, I know we've had a bit more practice at this Premier league business, but some of the blue (red) lot on here seem to be conceding the Welsh East/West competition very early. I happen to agree that we may well finish above you, but you're only two points behind!
We get a draw in our next game and you win and it's back on! As much as I'd love to see your lot lose a lot more games, there's a sadistic side of me that almost (ALMOST!) wants us to be on the same points on Nov 3rd.

No, sorry Shaper, can't see it at all. We're just not good enough for this division.

The plan must now be damage limitation in every game to avoid the drop. Picking up the odd point from bottom half clubs is the best we can hope for.

Only the most optimistic Bluebird or the most pessimistic Swan would predict Cardiff to finish above Swansea.

If you finished below us, you would be knocking on the relegation door!

If we finish 1 point clear of 18th I will be very happy, though I am hoping we will be around 15th by the end of the season. January transfers will be interesting, as we may move a couple out to bring a couple in!

We've got no chance of finishing 15th.

In all honesty it was always going to be tough this season - but from an outsiders perspective I think you have picked a 'good year' - Sunderland and Palace will find it very hard from here - so realistically you are looking to finish above one of Fulham, Stoke, Norwich. West Ham, Hull and Newcastle (I think Swans, Villa and now West Brom have too much overall quality to be dragged into it) - every reason to be optimistic - right now I'd be most worried if I supported Stoke - they lack a real goal scorer and that could prove very costly over the course of the season

I don't entirely agree Sparks. Whilst the PL table is settling into what looks a like a rough order. Hull and the Mancs are well out of position but other than that the natural order is starting to become apparent.
However some sides have had really tough starts like us and Villa. Others have had much 'better' fixtures like Hull. When the fixtures were released I said that if we weren't in the bottom 3 at New Year we'd have done realy well. Our home form after New year will decide where we finish but because of the way the fixtures have worked our I can't make a judgement on how we'll deal with those games yet.

I am sure however that due to their 2 yer head start Swansea will have too much for us squad wise this season but due to the nauture of PL football Swansea will struggle to move far from where they are now and IF we can stay in this league for a couple of years we'll be able to build a squad to hopefully have a proper go at this finishing above them lark.

Joking and wind ups aside Steveo has a point about home fixtures.

By the end of November we will have played Man City, Spurs, Man U, Everton and the Arse. 5 of the likely top 7 finishers. By implication our second half home fixtures, although including the other 2, Chelsea and Liverpool, will be easier and give many more opportunities to accumulate points. Just got to make sure we take them. Our away fixtures will be a little tougher though. <whistle>

As for the Swans game, I believe that, as usual, form, quality and ability will take a back seat to the atmosphere and emotion of the occasion. It will be anyone's game.

Interestingly, how many players from both squads will have experienced the south Wales derby before? Marshall, Hudson, Whitts and Bellers for us. Rangel, Williams, Dyer, Britton, Neil Taylor and Monk for them. Have I missed anyone? I don't know where Beaker is plying his trade at present. Lol!!!!

Not all will play meaning that for at least 50%+ of those taking part, it will be a completely new experience for them. Not that Pitbull will be phased by our little game bearing in mind some of the local derbies he has played in before. <yikes>

Depending on the Euro fixtures Taylor is a possibility in for Davies I suppose. Monk doesn't get near this team, at least in the League. But I agree that in a local derby form tends to go out the window. The only way to play us effectively is to press us hard high up the pitch and stop us moving the ball around. Laudrup knows this, hence the signing of Shelvey who can pick a long range pass or two. One thing's for certain - Bellamy will be up for it.

The atmosphere will be electric and may get to some of our players who haven't experienced it before, you never know. Anything can happen regardless of league position.
