I know we took 4 points off Liverpool and United and the win against Swansea was not to be sniffed at, but I can only think wistfully of points dropped against Sunderland and West Ham <wah>. Norwich (I will concede through gritted teeth) probably deserved it. Would have given us some wriggle room for the tough games.

Don't worry the teams above us are going to struggle soon. A heavy fixture list and European games! Only a matter of time before they start dropping points and we stride up to the table to our rightful place at the top ;)

Crystal Palace vs Fulham kicking-off at 20:00 - on tonight's Monday Night Football.

MNF starts at 19:00 with analysis of the weekend's fixtures and a preview of tonight's game.

Josh Freeman should not pose much difficulty for the Palace back four, but on the other hand I could see Jason Puncheon finding lots of free space against a depleted Vikings defense. If Scott Parker is healthy, he could be a big boost for Fulham. But in the end, no one is going to stop Adrian Peterson. Vikings 28, Fulham 1.

CRYSTAL PALACE: Speroni; Ward, Mariappa, Delaney, Moxey; O'Keefe, Jedinak, Campana; Puncheon, Gayle, Bolasie.

FULHAM: Stekelenburg; Riether, Hangeland, Senderos, Richardson; Parker, Sidwell; Ruiz, Berbatov, Kasami; Bent.

Gary Neville: "These (Southampton) are the best defensively-coached team in the league by an absolute mile."

Jamie Carragher: "The only team in recent years I can think of, playing like this, was the great AC Milan sides of the 80s."

Jamie Carragher: "That pushing up, dropping off as a unit. We did that on the training pitch with Rafa Benitez. Maybe we weren't brave enough to use it. But you can't just 'do' that. That's being drilled into them on the training pitch by the manager."

Gary Neville: "The sort of level of defending and organisation of Southampton's defence is how you get a Bayern Munich, or a Barcelona."
