Oh god. Why does he always have to give a quote? He's an ego maniac. How many chairman actually have a column in the match day programme, and give regular interviews on the radio? He provides no investment to the club. He is terrible at contract negotiations - Beckford, Johnson, Kilkenny. He repeatedly contradicts himself - 'we told them we don't deal in petty cash' on the Fabian Delph transfers, where's the cash then? Grayson has said to YEP that he wants to keep Kilkenny and Johnson, and contract talks were held between the club and the players, yet Bates is now saying they've gone because we need better. They rejected our offers, that's why they've gone. My favourite Bates statement, was when he bought the club a month ago, and his response to very valid questions about this was to call the Guardian reporter an 'international enemy of Leeds United' and criticise George McCartney.
Is this the 3.5m bid we tabled over a week ago? Anyone would think he's trying to get that story back in the news, in the hope someone makes another bid. I thought you kept all transfers secret until they were confirmed?
No we keep all our Transfer targets on the down low until the deal is done. If anyone gives Bates an excuse to fire his gob off he is going to take it! TC Grayson's no clown, but I do think he is a yes man & thats the reason he got the gig. That & his spending record for Blackpool & his love for the loan market. Match mate in heaven for Batesy!

He may not be worth 4m more, but he is certainly a better player than Snodgrass. The stats from the last two seasons, when they were in the same league, prove this beyond all doubt.
