Said it once, said it twice, will say it again...Tiote was injured, that's why he was behind play in the first place and that's why he didn't sprint up the pitch.

You guys are having the wrong debate... Krul an 8???

    I'm super critical of goalies, we all know this, and I can say Mignolet didn't have a great game today. However, Krul was poor at crucial points once again;

    The penalty-

You pick a side, you must cover it better than he did. The lad needs to be fitter and sharper than simply toppling to the side. Gerrard telegraphs his f***ing pens, it was obvious where it was going. Even if Krul can't. he did pick the correct side, but couldn't get a finger on the shot which didn't make it anywhere near the corner. Not good enough.

    The second goal -

You do not come out like that unless the chance of the player in possession scoring is highly likely. It wasn't from where Suarez was approaching. Krul sold himself out with an incredibly s*** decision and cost us 3 points today. Not the first time this season either.

He really needs to up his game. The rest of the play was what I expect of a goalie as a minimum, as he didn't have many difficult things to deal with at all. Unless we're giving out ratings based on the 90's boyband haircut, then Krul hasn't got above a 6 all year.

He has no competition for the jersey now.
Harper, whilst too old to be number 1, still had the experience to kick him up the arse whilst Forster carried the threat of taking over. Elliott is just a sub.
We should have a word with Holland and get them to say he might not make the world cup on current form or being back up at another club (should he push for a move in January).

That is exactly what my dad said to me after the game! I think it's a really good point.

When I met him before the season started, he was looking a little sloppy physically, which is understandable considering his wife was huuuuuggggeeee, and now she's almost certainly had their child recently. It's just sad that we've got nobody to push him for his place to keep his wits sharp on the field.

As fans we can suggest the issues.
As a retail entrepreneur hes thinking why would I spend £4m and £45k a week for someone to sit on the bench to merely bring the best out of another member of staff?
If he's **** and not doing his job anymore I'll sack him off and find someone who'll break their balls to do the job for less.
Though with his missus about to drop you'd think he'd have the safest hands in the business!

Yeah, to be fair, I haven't seen a decent goalkeeping prospect in the lower leagues lately, and while Hugo Lloris is restoring my faith in the French to produce a man between the sticks who isn't a bipolar midget, I don't think our scouts will be finding one anytime soon!

While Shay Given might have lost his special ability with age, it might have been worth offering him a short term deal in the summer.

He was in that position in the first place because he did a ******ed pass which almost led to a Liverpool goal. If he's going to lie on the floor, he should get off the pitch first. Let's face it, he couldn't have been that bad if he was up within 20 seconds and was running quite briskly up the pitch.

Furthermore, as others have said, if he's not going to get back onside in time, he should have just stayed back and made it far more difficult for Suarez.

Seen it again it was a penalty, not sure it was blatant, it was blatant that Suarez made a meal of it, as far as the sending off is concerned it's not the referee's fault the rules are the way they are, it's a double punishment, we benefited exactly the same last year when we beat Wigan 3-0.

He was about 15 yards away from the edge of the pitch (goal line). He was injured and not moving quickly or easily. When the ball was played through he was about one or two yards from our rear line after having moved forward about 15 yards. He is not allowed to just go off the pitch as a bookable offence.

Anyone trying to blame Tiote is simply trying to find a fall guy, missing the facts, didn't watch or see what happened or plain doesn't like Tiote.

The back 4 including M'Biwa, who I do like, should have been more aware as to what was happening. As a defender you don't just look forward you should keep an awareness of what is happening all around.

I thought he did ok. The pen was **** though. I knew which side he was putting it. It was an ok pen as it was well struck and low, but hardly in the corner. Poor.

Interesting that, and not totally unfair. Suarez has earned his reputation, that's for sure, but I wonder exactly who would have stayed on their feet and carried on. and for what? What if they miss? Is the penalty given anyway and the player sent off? what if they score? No sending -off? People forget one of the main points of our 'ghost' goal against Chelsea in the CL semi in2005. A goal was given -probably wrongly- but why wasn't Cech sent off (after 2 minutes) for the foul on Baros that lead to it? The ref said after the game that he would have done just that had the goal not been given. Were Liverpool not penalised for Garcia picking up the loose ball and shooting?

The year before in the then Eufa, we had Biscan rightly sent off against Marseilles when he grabbed a forward, just like M'Bia did yesterday, who then went on to shoot and miss. Point is, who wants to stay on their feet and possibly miss when his team is penalised for it? I've seen the great Shearer do both over the years. Robbie Fowler, Michael Owen and Ian Rush too. But how we all cheered when Owen went over at the merest tickle against Argentina.

Seriously, don't expect any of your forwards to try and stay up in the same circumstances. If Sturridge had in the same circumstances I'd have raged at him.

Well earned point. You deserved all three before the sending-off. Hope you get some players in Jan and push for top eight. You're certainly better than the garbage team that lost to Everton last month. You were diabolical in that first half. Now you have spirit and teamwork to go with some undoubtedly skilful players. Good luck. :emoticon-0150-hands

It was the way he made it look more dramatic than what was required, as I did point out we got a penalty from a similar circumstance against Wigan last season. Also got to point out, the first half at Everton was as bad as I've seen and we deserved to be 3-0 down, 2nd half when Cabaye was brought on he sort of changed the game and we played really well 2nd half.

At the time, I thought offside for the penalty but having seen it since it was a stonewall penalty and red card.
The rat does go down easily but we can have few complaints.

What pleased me most was the fact we performed as a team for the full 96 minutes! - not just one half.

An example of ref bias has to be Gerrard not being given a second yellow for obstruction (deliberate) and also playing on until they got a weak free kick at the death.
Saved, cleared and full time - how handy!!!
We would have been robbed if that had gone in!

Play like this next week - and keep 11 on the pitch and we could/should get a result.
I'd rather they'd got something yesterday as they're SOOOO desperate for a result next week!!!

I'm just being a rationalist mate. How many of us watch Tiote on the ball and say 'Christ man just get rid of it!'? He still fills me with unease and the bloke for the most part is a tremendous liability. He had a good game yesterday but two pivotal moments proved costly. One with the Mbiwa situation and if he had used his head we may have got a third. Tiote just needs to break it up which he did/does pretty well but then he needs get rid to a more techinally gifted player. If stays on the ball he will 9/10 end up losing it. Thats my opinion anyway.

    Sheer delusion<laugh>

You're hell bent on trying to say Suarez dived, better off talking about how your team dug deep and did excellent with 10 men for so long<ok>

I'm not a big fan of the animal myself but I didn't see too much wrong with the decision. Even Pards came out and said it was a deserved penalty.

Pards generally makes a point of not whinging on about decisions in the post match interviews, I've noticed.
