I was looking at how long it took us to get to 20 points last season it was 1st December against Bristol Rovers spooky
Although we never looked in danger of losing after the sending-off it looked as though we were going to have to settle for a point. Rovers dropped very deep and with no natural width high up the pitch (no Sam Wood in the squad and Paris playing down the middle. Gareth was encouraging Charles Dunne throughout the second half to keep on the touchline and spread the game) everything was very congested in the middle and we created very few chances. The chances that did come were from the subs, a shot from Matt McClure with the follow up by JPP saved and Max putting in the rebound from JPPs shot. Well done to the boys for plugging away. Incidentally I felt a bit sorry for Spring as the game progressed - we have lots of work ethic and energy in the midfield but yesterday was calling out for an old head who could spot and play a pass. Sadly can't be at Pompey on Tuesday as the train I need to catch leaves Fratton before the end of the game. Good luck Blues.
to be honest, im not on the wind up but you were poor yesterday. maybe you are not usually that poor and maybe we dragged you down to our level but i am yet to see a good team this season at our place. if we can sort ourselves out and get our act together we will be just fine as so far all teams have been poor at our place. not been away so cant comment.. but at the moment we are down in the dumps and need a miracle.
That's possibly because we are the first team you have played at home that is in the top half Jack. You're only 10 points from the play offs and we all know how long it takes to gain/lose 10 points. The team just needs lifting, as they were lifted last term.
Wycombe were poor tbh, good in at holding possession but lacked going forward... gaz has to take huge credit though for the subs, pittman and kretch managed to change the game and appropriately set up and score the goal! as for the red card rovers fans seemed furious but at the time, and after seeing again, it seems a clear red card to me and if I was a rovers fans id be disappointed in the player. however I think dunne got away easy for his reaction!!! all in all though, solid performance that could maybe have done with a bit more up top, had we of had deano and/or craig I don't think it would have taken an hour after the red card to score 1-0 to the lightning boys
from where i was i didnt think it was a red. after seeing it on the FL show, i dont think contact was made but there was clear intent and for me thats a red. deserved to go. however he had a torrid time from your players from kick off where he was pushed and kicked and shirt pulled and he never got a single decision from the ref. some were so clear it was unbelievable. obviously was fed up of not getting anything from the ref and thought the ref ant just took the law in his own hands and clearly just had enough. stupid git. he missed a few games and the fans on our OS forum call for him to start and he repays the fans in getting a red card! did you notice though the ref didnt actually give a free kick! he actually stopped the game as he thought it was a head injury like a clash of heads. the linesman didnt flag for a free kick either. so neither official seen it! if the lineman seen it he would have flagged for the ref's attention which he did not do. if the ref seen it he would have blown for a free kick and wouldnt have needed to discuss with the linesman. yes they made the right decision with the red card but i have no idea how they got that decision between them, thats the frustrating thing for me.
yeh I thought that was a bit strange tbh, looking at the replay as well they both clearly saw it, so I honestly have no idea
When playing against a defensive 10, it is harder than playing against an attacking 11, there just aren't the spaces and options opening up. Captain it is hard to judge a teams ability when playing in these circumstances.
