Hanging is too good for the McCanns.

I totally disagree with you on this Dev . Especially the part about the McCanns being pilloried . Imo they have been given an easy ride by the British media . This is probably due to the fact that they are nice middle class folks and professional people .

If it was say a single parent or Joe Bloggs the binman then you would have seen pilloried .

Fact is Mr and Mrs McCann are entirely to blame for their daughters disappearance . They left their children alone and gave who ever took her the opportunity to snatch her . Far from deserving any sympathy they should have been charged by Portuguese police or police here on neglect .

They have not been punished at all . They may suffered but that is suffering that could have been avoided .

I have a vast amount of sympathy for them, they made a mistake and have paid for it with the loss of a child. I cannot even begin to imagine what they have gone through and what they are continuing to go through.

The amount of online Blogs (mainly Portugese-based) who are trying to convince the world that the McCanns killed their own daughter (or covered up her death) are nauseating. It seems everyone has a theory - despite the evidence- and a large number of people seem to think the Portugese police did a good job but that some higher power (The UK Government included) are covering for the McCanns by belittling the investigations carried out by the GNR. The simple fact is that if the GNR had done their job even half respectably then Maddie may have been found within days.

These imbeciles, Detective Amaral primarily, could not find their own arse with a mirror on a stick. If they had concentrated their invesigations on an abduction, rather than some far fetched fantasy about a manslaughter cover up in which the McCanns were the prime suspects, then maybe they would have gotten some results. It took Scotland Yard Detectives to make some sense out out of the mess the GNR left behind, that must be infuriating for the family.

"Fact is Mr and Mrs McCann are entirely to blame for their daughters disappearance "

I don't think they killed her or anything like that, and it must be awful to lose a child whilst having a half-baked police force try to 'help' but I, personally, view them as directly responsible. When you have kids, unless you arrange otherwise i.e. babysitter for example, you forfeit the opportunity to get pissed whilst enjoying tapas.

No parent(s) in the UK would leave a 3 year old, and (2 other younger siblings as well <doh>), at home without a guardian whilst they went for dinner and drinks.

If they did, they'd get done for neglect and social services would be called. It's even worse that they did it in a foreign country.

100% correct . And if the McCanns hadn't been doctors and just no marks the media would have had them hung .

As for the inept foreign police ?

People in this country think our police are useless until something happens abroad and then they suddenly become a force full off uber detectives . Think the amount of miscarriages of justice we have had here would suggest that is far from the truth .

The fact of the matter is the McCanns did exactly the same thing the night before and when they got back Maddie was hysterical. To go and leave the children unattended yet again the following night is unforgivable.

I have enormous sympathy of course. But it is Maddie that I feel most for. But I still sympathise with the parents to an extent. Can't begin to imagine how I would feel if I was in that position. In fact, I would probably never forgive myself and be racked with guilt.

The anaesthetist husband juiced Maddie up to make sure she slept but got the dosage wrong and killed her.

This is the most ridiculous aspect IMO. Doing it once is negligent, but knowing how upset she was, and still putting the wine and fine dining first, was unforgivable. Especially when they admitted that they'd seen dodgy-looking characters watching their apartment previously.

    Pair of absolute spastics.
