In all honesty I thought we deserved to win today.

As it is, we're still still 10 points better off than Sunderland and with a +12 better goal difference.

If the ref had taken any notice of his linesman we'd have had a pen and won.

 

Appreciate Tiote had been down injured, however, he virtually walked back up the field and as a result Liverpool were played onside. Had he got another yard up on Mbiwa offside would have resulted and a free kick to us. 2nd goal was poor defending though, the player receiving the ball should have been put over the touch line instead of speeding past Williamson ( not 100% sure it was him)

 

Plus I somehow squeezed some Rasputin into this thread

Anyone understand why, other than being Steeeeeeeevie G and England captain, Steeeeeeevie G didn't get a second yellow and a sending off!!!!

Ironically, two subsequent bookings, one for each team, were for very similar fouls.

My theory for what it is worth was the referee bottled it. Now there's a first for a referee in the Premier League.

Ref bottled it. First one was never a booking and I suspect he watched it at half time and let the 2nd one which was a booking go. You can't re-referee the game whilst its in motion and try to put right your wrongs.

To be honest I thought that ref had a cracking game. Bar the Gerrard bookings situ where he gave one he shouldn't, then didn't the one he should. otherwise he let it flow, none of these soft free kicks etc. Got all the big decisions right. I screamed for a pen on Remy but having now seen it again, got it bang on. Remy should have got his body across mind.

 

It was class. Poor from the fans of course (Joe Jordan also got one which smashed his specs in his face). Harry looked ready for fisticuffs
